Herrera, Galvis, Revere, Hernandez, Blanco, to me seem to be very similar hitters with just a few differences. Most can get hits with just a little bit of pop. Herrera more extra base power with Revere the least bit best speed. All 9f them have value as the 4th outfielder or utility player. But on phillies they all battle for starts. Now Asche/ Ruf platoon would likely work .

Maikel Franco is ripping the ball. I'm loving it. He is a BIG part of the future. Gotta get some more pieces around him hitting too.

SS - JP Crawford
CF - Roman Quinn
3B - Maikel Franco
RF - Kelly Dugan
1B - Brock Stassi
LF - Aaron Altherr
C - Cameron Rupp/Gabriel Lino
4th OF - Cam Perkins

They're mostly in Reading right now, so likely still a season away from contributing to the Phils. Not a ton of power, but some decent hitters there average wise. Add in a prospect(s) they might get for Papelbon, Harang, or Hamels and it starts to not look so horrible.

Maybe a post on whether you think Franco is the real deal or not?

Joe Blanton: 2-0, 9 G, 2 GS, 26 IP, 24 K, 1.73 ERA, 0.92 WHIP with the Royals.

Aaron Altherr promoted to Triple-A. He's having a very good season so far and reminds me of Chris Young.

Now only if these starting pitchers would actually do their job.

Rube will probably trade Franco for a player to be named later. Just saying.

Andrew said...

If Franco is able to keep this up all season, he should be right there in the ROY discussion. He's on pace to match or beat Joc Pederson and Kris Bryant in several categories

GM-Carson said...

Joc Pederson and Kris Bryant are doing quite well themselves. Love what Franco is doing, but see it hard for him to surpass them.
