And Your Official Phillies Manager Is...

When Ryne Sandberg quit managing the Phillies, Pete Mackanin was there to pick up the reins.  He, like Sandberg, has been dealt the shittiest hand imaginable, but for the remainder of the 2015 season, Mackanin will be sitting on his throne in the Phils dugout calling the shots.  Honestly, there's not much he can do to fix what's going on in Philadelphia.  He can play the young guys, use the bullpen better, and hope he doesn't get canned come October. Good luck with that Pete.

Mackanin just allowed Giles to throw 38 pitches and let him in batter to long (it was clear to everyone he was gassed). Looks like he can't manage a bullpen either.

Ryan Braun is the quintessential Phillie killer: 50 G, 82-201 (.408 AVG), 11 DBL, 2 TRPL, 17 HR, 39 R, 41 RBI, 6 SB, 1.181 OPS.

When Giles wasn't throwing strikes I was questioning in my mind why he was kept in there.

This is merely off the top of my head, but I've been saying for 5 straight starts now, 6 counting tonight, that Harang is killing his trade value. He should have been dealt at the first decent offer the Phils were given. He honestly has next to no value no. He's been a disaster.

Agreed on Harang. Phils expected to sign 16yo Ortiz tomorrow best international power hitter available.

6'2" 260 lb. Ortiz kid. Nice. That's a big boy. Let the homeruns fly.

Went back and looked, and it indeed has been 6 starts that Harang has been spiraling into ineffectiveness. 6 GS, 34.2 IP, 48 H, 32 ER, 12 BB, 8.31 ERA, 1.73 WHIP. Terrible.

Harang to DL, too bad no trade made earlier in season.

The Phillies rotation is beyond laughable. Cole Hamels is the only one that can truly be good. All the others are complete shit. Adam Morgan might end up being serviceable, but O'Sullivan, Billingsley, Williams and Severino aren't any good. It's going to be so rough the rest of the season. I'd start taking other teams' castoffs like Clayton Richardson, currently with Pittsburgh, and others like that, in hopes they'll at least not suck quite as bad.
