Checking in on Old Friends

Just checking in on some phriends (see what I did there?) that played for the 2014 Philadelphia Phillies.

Jimmy Rollins - 2 G, .375/1.319, 1 R, 1 DBL, 1 HR, 3 RBI, and 2 E.  Hit a game winning 3-run homerun in the Dodgers season opener on Monday.  Uncharacteristically committed 2 errors yesterday.

Kyle Kendrick - 1 W, 7 IP, 6 K, 0.00 ERA, and a 1.00 WHIP.  Was the Rockies Opening Day starter and did not disappoint.

Marlon Byrd - went hitless in Reds debut, striking out in 3 times in 4 at bats.

John Mayberry Jr. - walked in a pinch hitting appearance for the Mets on Monday.

Wil Nieves - is the Padres backup catcher and has yet to appear in a game.

Antonio Bastardo - in the Pirates bullpen, yet to pitch.

AJ Burnett - in the Pirates rotation, yet to pitch.

Roberto Hernandez - in the Astros rotation, yet to pitch.

Just curious why Herrera and Sizemore aren't in the lineup against the sinker ball righty in favor of Ruf and Francouer. Hmmm...

Mario Hollands had TJS early today. Out for the season.

HERRARA DAY TO DAY FOOT INJURY.

14 innings and no runs?

What are the odds for a scoreless season?

Honestly think the Phillies have a chance at averaging less than 3 runs scored a game. They'll set records for phutility. Oops, my bad, futility.

Seriously, Jeff Frenchy Francoeur hits first homerun of Phillies season, also accounting for the first runs of the season. #BizzaroWorld

Ken Giles and Jake Diekman's shiterrific Spring Training has rolled directly into the season. Imagine that. #SawThisComing

Giles may not be right. He had back problems and has had back to back bad outings

hey, can i get a post about how hamels was actually really good in his first start based on his k/9 being over 10 and his babip being .100. or wait, does that make him good and lucky? or lucky and good but actually bad? did those home runs even happen? these advanced metrics confuse me...

4 solo homeruns. That makes him good right? Hell, so confusing.

Further proof that Spring Training don't mean shit...David Buchanan lit up for 6 runs after dominating all of March.

Advanced metrics is the way that people can skew numbers to make a bad player seem like a good player
