Jeanmar Gomez, Come On Down

Jeanmar Gomez, come on down. You are the next contestant on The Price Is Right.  Indeed, the price is right, because it's a minor league deal.

Gomez is a soon to be 27 year old, right-handed pitcher.  He struggled early in his career, when used primarily as a starter with the Indians, but has posted decent numbers for the Pirates over the past two seasons working mostly relief (78 G, 8 GS, 142.2 IP, 3.28 ERA, 1.30 WHIP, 0.6 WAR).

So, you know what this means, possible phuture Phucco!

Jeanmar Gomez career stats: 5 seasons, 19-18 record, 120 G, 46 GS, 349.1 IP, 203 K, 4.41 ERA, and a 1.43 WHIP.

In minors he's been solely a starting pitcher.  This means he has the ability to pitch multiple innings per appearance or jump into the rotation for a spot start from time to time.  I like the signing.  Nothing flashy, but could help chew up some much needed innings.

Wandy Rodriguez failed his physical for the Phillies and signed a minor league deal with the Braves instead. Watch for him now to win 12 games with a 3.50 ERA because that's the kinda shit that happens to the Phils with Amaro in charge.

Phils claimed Jordan Danks, outfielder, from the ChiSox.
