Wandy Rodriguez- Phillies 5th Starter?

Finally a minor league signing of notable distinction...enter Wandy Rodriguez.  The soon to be 36 year old lefty was terrible in an injury shortened campaign last season, but was a quality starting pitcher for the Astros and Pirates from 2007-2013.

Career stat: 91-94, 248 GS, 1471 IP, 1209 K, 4.06 ERA, and a 1.33 WHIP.
Wandy gives the Phillies a much needed innings eater if healthy.  Of course, that's a big "if". However, that's why the deal is of the minor league variety.  He has to earn his spot on the club and is guaranteed nothing.  Perhaps he's over-the-hill and his days of usefulness are behind him, or maybe he still has some bullets left in his arm. It's worth the gamble. Possible added bonus- phuture Phucco?

How about a real draft pick like someone to replace Amaro now!

Maybe he will translate into a Roberto Hernandez like player.
Good start and traded for decent return

Alright, time to trade Byrd for some stuff. Move Chooch too if anybody is taking.

Byrd traded for Reds top pitching prospect. Sounds like a good trade
