Bye-Bye...Well, Sorta

The Phillies have been doing some house cleaning, as Cesar Jimenez, JC Ramirez, John Lannan, Casper Wells, and Roger Bernadina were all outrighted off the 40-man roster.

That illustrious group combined to hit .157/.482 in 121 at bats and pitch to the tune of a 5.90 ERA and a 1.62 WHIP over 116 innings.  Good job Amaro!

Speaking of Amaro, he most love fellatio from Michael Martinez, because he re-signed that piece of poop to a minor league contract.  Some habits are hard to break.  Mini-Mart's OPS of .495 is the 7th lowest over the past 50 years in MLB with a minimum of 396 plate appearances.  Shame on your Amaro, the afternoon delight can't be that good.

Lannan was not bad when not injured. Was a viable option at a low price.

If by viable, you mean "able to physically throw the baseball", then yes he was. Healthy Lannan was not abysmal, but he was below average. Unlike, say, Mini-Mart, I wouldn't be upset if the Phils gave him a minor league deal.

Lannan on a minor league is the type of low cost, depth building moves Amaro needs to fill AAA with this offseason.

Apparently MLBTradeRumors falsely reported the Martinez signing. So there is hope.

In other news, Shane Victorino just hit a pennant clinching grand slam for the Red Sox. Get them Cardinals Shane, you deserve another ring.

I hate the Cardinals. Not sure why, but I really do. I honestly dislike them more than the Yankees. The Cardinals are just so damn annoying.
