New Poll- How Many Wins for the Phillies?

Back on April 28th, I asked the loyal readers of WSBGMs to vote on how many wins the Phillies would have in the 2013 season.  The results of the that poll: 3.18% of you idiots said 86+ wins, 3.83% had wishful thinking of 82-85 wins, 33.61% went with 78-81 wins, 15.01% of people like myself saw the writing on the wall and predicted 74-77 wins, and then there were 44.37% of you that were miserable bastards and voted 73 wins or less.  (Total votes - 1,226)

Well, I wonder how much has changed since then in the minds of Phans. The Phillies are currently 50-60, putting them on pace for 74 wins. Personally, my prediction at the beginning of the season of 75-87 looks to be very reasonable, so I'm sticking with it.  Let's see what the rest of you think...

I think they'll win at least 50... but that's just the smartass in me coming out!! I'm real curious how many more games are going to be lost by the bull-pen? And by Papel-BLOWN??

I had said 79 before the season. Today, I would say 71. They are clearly a team that has completely given up and everyone is hurt.

I was a wishful thinker early on (I'm in the 3%) now I say around 75

Oh and Howard's injury doesn't hurt the team as Ruf has done well to take his place & now MYoung has taken over

Phillies pinch hitters are 0-20 of late.

This team sucks!

The Phils will suffer through their worst stretch of baseball record-wise since 1999, if...I mean, when they lose tonight.

Delmon Young with one of the worst at bats I have ever seen last night. Pitcher throws 3 out of strike zone: check swing went too far called a swing and miss, check swing accidentally fouls off a pitch that almost hit him, and he check swings but went too far on what would have been ball three for a 3 pitch swing and miss strike out when he never even got a full swing in during the whole at bat.

Time to shake things up: recall Galvis, Hernandez, Gillies and cut Dyoung, Mini Mart, MacDonald. Play Galvis over Rollins at SS, Hernandez or Gillies in CF, Brown in RF, Ruf in LF, Asche at 3B. Maybe even shake the pen up even more

This team is really just "playing" for the draft pick at this point. And they're doing that very well.

I like this line

The Phillies are closer to the first overall draft pick next June (13 1/2 games ahead of the Astros) than the NL East lead (16 1/2 games behind the Braves). -- Paul Boye, Crashburn Alley

They are now tied for bottom nine.

When is $50 million dollar man Gonzalez gonna start a game?

Yay need another reliever Bastardo suspended.

Andrew said...

Ha, the little Bastard got caught. Why are all the suspension Latino players? I'm honestly asking...

Morak99 said...

Good job Bastardo. Without you, I am revising my prediction to less than 70. Maybe less that 65 the way things are going. Like, holy hell.

They will win one more game

Bastardo now on my hate list. F'n cheater.

BioGensis was during 2009, Escalona was with Phils/minors during that time too. Maybe they pass that stuff out in the system there

Time to bring back Madson - released by Angels yesterday

GM-Carson said...

He has collected a lot of money over the last two seasons for not having thrown one pitch in MLB.

Laynce Nix designated for assignment!!!!!!! Joy! I seriously think the last time I was this happy as a Phillies fan was Cliffmas. We needed that. Something positive for once.

Still need to make a few more moves, replace Mini Mart & MacDonald, cut D Young, bring up Rupp for a few weeks

I'd like to see Cody Overbeck play some.
