Darin Ruf's MLB Man Cave Interview

I was searching for something on Darin Ruf, since he's one of the few good things going for the Phillies right now, and I came across this video from last year. He seems like a levelheaded guy and I hope he can continue to improve defensively in the outfield, because the Phils need his bat in the lineup. Perhaps he secures a starting gig for next season, along with Revere and Dom, which allows the Phillies to sign an offensive minded catcher like Brian McCann, who loves hitting in Citizens Bank Park (.292/.882, 18 DBL, 12 HR, and 49 RBI in 68 G).

This team reminds me of the ugly 90's Phillies, but with a super inflated payroll.

KK has been terrible over the past 2 months.

For once KK has been consistent- consistently getting worse as the season goes on.

Seems like almost the entire staff is getting worse. Lee has been close to his All-Star version of himself from the 1st half. Poor Hamels still can't get a win. Papelbon is f'n terrible. Most of the lineup is bleh too. J-Roll's OPS is about .650, Michael Young is struggling. Dom and Ruf are hitting, about it.

Hamels has gotten better in the past month but he's the only one and he gets no run support, so it makes little difference!

Looks like the Phils will let Chooch walk at season's end. That's the right choice. This team is entirely too old. Would be awesome if McCann was catching Hamels and Lee next season.

Letting Cooch walk and then play who?

Cooch is at least worth a 50-50 playing time.

Why would you think McCann would sign with us? Would Chase sign with the Braves?

You think Salty at catcher Beer?
Rupp? Who you silly goose?

They are just not matching his demands at this point.

The problem with McCann is he is yet again left handed. I'd be ok with keeping around Chooch for one more year for defense and to train young'uns, but at the same time I would not be sorry to see him go.

rollins waived his no-trade clause.

would you trade him for a handful of top prospects? i would, if the price is right.

Chooch is a cheater, plain and simple.

TRADE ROLLINS PLEASE. He's totally done, both offensively and defensively (negative WAR this year!). I would let him go for not even that great prospects.
