Bye-Bye Charlie!

Today is a day of joy and sorrow as the Phillies fired Charles Fuqua Manuel from the position of manager.  Ryne Sandberg takes over.  Let the new era begin...

I just listened to the press conference and it was very classy by both Amaro and Manuel. Rube actually cried.

So long, Charlie. As much as I/we dismissed you, there's no doubt you were loved by the players and a great guy.

Meanwhile, I'm glad the franchise can start moving on and continue the rebuild. Here's hoping Ryno's carrer as Phillies manager is much longer than his career as a Phillies player.

They should have let him finish the season.

Trying out Ryno is a bush move.

We used to have really smart great Philadelphia Phans. The Fans who booed Santa Claus were passionate, well informed, threw snowballs at a drunk Santa who was a disgrace.

When a team has a long run of good fortune the un-informed morons jump on the Band Wagon. I remember when I was a kid, and always rooted for the Phillies (my first year at age 10 was for every game of the 1964 Phillies),
and when you asked kids who was your team on the playground "Who do you root for?" and the un-informed lazy ass morons would choose whomever was in first place at the moment that year.

Look at this (from Crashburn Alley):
By Robby Bonfire on Aug 16, 2013

"Worst manager in the history of Major League Baseball, retained eight years too long. Enough said."

I read all the Philly blogs 2-3 times a day and I have been reading comments like "Oh we should offer Ruiz 200K next year." or "Do not let Halladay on the mound again, Kendrick is much better." or "Trade Jimmy Rollins for nothing get him out of here."

Just cry baby stuff. Not the Epic Philly knowledge that correctly "booed Santa Claus" and threw snowballs as his sorry drunk ass.

Charlie Manuel was good for this team and deserved dignity only 59 managers in all Baseball History have 1000 Wins. I hope he finds another spot. His calm and having his player's backs allowed them to achieve things that have never been achieved in the entire 131 year Franchise History including the record greatest 102-60 Victory Season.

Charlie it would not have happened without you. I hope you get a shot next year.

Boy things are quiet around here and elsewhere. Safe to say any bandwagoners left over from the glory days have left the Phillies internet community.

Haven't had much time to blog lately.

I didn't mean to criticism anyone. I was implying that there's nothing left to say about the Phillies anymore.
