Boston Red Sox (32-21) @ Philadelphia Phillies (25-27)
Wednesday - John Lackey vs. Get Back on Track KK
Thursday - Jon Lester vs. Petite Bone
*Both games start at 7:05
Boston will attempt to Dear John the Phillies and sweep the 2 game series to finish MLB's stupid idea of a home-and-home interleague mash-up. The Red Sox offense is good and the Phils offense is bad. Both have middle of the pack pitching. I predict a team with red on their uniform to win.
The Pirates are in 3rd place in the NL Central. Doesn't sound too impressive, because you could also say the Phillies are in 3rd place in the NL East. The Buccos have a record of 32-20 and might actually be able to snap their streak of 20 consecutive losing seasons. Pittsburgh has a good bullpen, solid outfield, and a passable rotation. They really need Pedro Alvarez/3B to start hitting above the Mendoza Line and a shortstop other than Clint Barmes. Perhaps J-Roll could help them out starting in July.
