Mystery Solved- The Origin of Jonathan Pettibone

*Is Jonathan Pettibone the lovechild of Andy Pettitte and Ricky Bones?

*KK continues to be the staff ace.  Since the beginning of July 2012, Kendrick has tossed 133 innings to the tune of a 2.57 ERA/1.05 WHIP and a record of 13-5.  Believe that!

*In the spirit of giving credit where credit is due- Ryan Howard has been hitting much better.  Currently batting  .282/.833 with 6 HR and 20 RBI.  Not great, but certainly improving.  With warm weather quickly approaching, a Howard power surge might be too.

*Halladay was sent to the DL with a bum shoulder and Joe Savery has been recalled from Lehigh Valley.  Given the crappiness of fellow lefties, Horst and Valdes, he could stick around if he pitches better than crap.  Let's hope he does.

*Tyler Cloyd will get the start on Friday, with a corresponding roster move needing to be made.  I vote for releasing Chad Durbin or demoting Valdes or Horst.

*This team is confusing.  They looked like one of the worst teams in baseball against the lowly Marlins on Saturday and Sunday, but then look like one of the best teams in baseball facing the World Champion Giants the past two nights.

With KK, Lee, & Hamels the team has 3 top starters.

Savery is likely to stay with Durbin, Valdes, or Horst being demoted. Aumont is not safe either. Keep an eye on Defratus in AAA, he may get a call up soon.

I have to say the offense from Utley, M Young, Howard, & Brown has been good, not spectacular but very good so far.

So far it looks like the team has given Worley and May for Revere who seems to be a 4th OF/ defensive replacement.

I haven't given up on Revere. If he can bat .280+, he has value. He's hit the past few games and might be getting on a roll.

Drop Valdez.

This team is not as bad as you think.

Hamels and Doc disasters and still a close to .500 team.

Horst will be demoted if Savery stays (which I expect). It won't be Durbin, because he's a free agent signing so it will be use him or lose him, and it won't be Valdez, as he's the longman in the pen. If Durbin or Valdez continue to struggle, one or both could be off the roster in favor of De Fratus or Stutes in the future.

Halladay going to have shoulder surgery with a torn labrum due to a bone spur.

This should have been taken care of months ago.

He might return this season.

Also, SirAlden- this team is not good. They are not going to be a winning club. My opinion.

Offense a no-show against Zito so far.

Lot of little bloops on Pettibone today.

It would be great if Revere would hit 280+, but there isn't much power there. However if Manuel is mixing and matching with Mayberry in CF, then he may get the best out of both.

I don't think Valdes is all that bad, but Durbin is really doing bad - especially with allowing inherited runners to score. If they counted against his ERA, it would likely be 25+.

From Baseball Reference:

Durbin's ERA:7.00

Durbin's ERA w/inherited runners scored counted: 14.77
