Be Ashamed, Very Ashamed

Mike Adams - DL.
Carlos Ruiz - DL.
Ryan Howard - day-to-day, meaning he's DL bound.
Roy Halladay - out indefinitely.
Ben Revere's OPS - .569
Runs Scored - 157 (27th)
OPS - .682 (26th)
ERA - 4.26 (22nd)
Bullpen ERA - 4.63 (27th)

From the Beat:

Ryan Lawerence - ... and they are 1-9 in games started by Cole Hamels.

Todd Zolecki - Marlins on pace to finish 46-116. If this 5-1 lead holds, four of their 13 wins will have come against the Phillies.

Matt Gelb - The Phillies have scored two or fewer runs in 40 percent of their games. Think about that.

Me - It is time to blow up this team, because they ain't winning with this cast of clowns.  Of course, trusting Amaro to trade for young, cheap talent is like trusting a politician to follow through with campaign promises.

If they are 1-9 in games started by Hamels, that means they are 21-26 in games started by everyone else. Offense be damned, I know who the biggest problem is. I know this is not all Hammels' fault due to run support, but his performance has been unacceptable and even worse than Halladay in light of the fact he has no excuses.

Cole Hamels has allowed the 9th most walks (24) and the 2nd most losses (7) this season in the Majors.

Last night wasn't his fault, but 2 runs allowed against the Marlins in 6 innings isn't good enough.

Also, go take a look around the national league. San Francisco is the only team with an OPS+ of more than 100 (our division is horrible outside of the Braves, the others are the four worst offensive teams in the NL). Baseball hitters are just not competitive and adaptive to today's pitchers. We're in the new 60's- this saddens me greatly.

Howard back to the lineup, but now Utley out with "discomfort" in his side.

GM-Carson said...

Tyler Cloyd with 2 runs allowed over 7 innings. Cole Hamels with 2 runs allowed over 6 innings. Cloyd makes league minimum, Hamels $20M.

Blow up for what reason?

What are you going to get for pieces that you blow up.

Give me an example of a Trade that actually helped a team that was being blown up.

Every trade Boston made last year.

Marlins seem to make good trades every salary dump they do.
