Welcome Aboard Ezequiel Carrera

The Phillies claimed outfielder Ezequiel Carrera off waivers from the Cleveland Indians.  He replaces Ender Inciarte as the team's 5th outfielder.  Inciarte was a Rule 5 pick out of the Diamondbacks organization, so it's doubtful he remains Phillies property.

Carrera is an upgrade as 25th man on the roster.  The 25 year old bats left-handed, has tremendous speed, and has played above Single-A (Inciarte hasn't).  Over the past 2 seasons donning Chief Wahoo, E-Z (that's his nickname now) has hit .255/.653 in 116 games with 47 R, 89 H, 14 DBL, 6 TRPL, 2 HR, 25 RBI, and 18 SB.  In 8 minor league seasons, he hit .291/.748 with 40 triples and 187 stolen bases.  He is capable of playing every outfield position.

8 seasons only Single A?

GM-Carson said...

No, he's been playing at Triple-A. Inciarte never played above Single-A.

So far, tonight looks like a repeat of game one.

Early season observations- the Braves offense is a juggernaut.

The Phillies starting rotation sucks.

Halladay is done.

Well, I don't know. He's striking people out and his velocity is OK, but on the other hand, look at all those pitches he's had to throw. I'm inclined to think that a lot of the trouble the last few games that the Braves offence is really, really phenomenally good more than our starting pitching being really, really phenomenally bad. We need to see a few more games to see if Doc's done yet.

Doc won't make it through the 4th inning at the pitch pace he's currently on. Strikeouts are awesome, but no runs allowed is better.

THE STRIKE ZONE DOC! THROW THE BALL IN THE VACINITY OF THE STRIKE ZONE!

I'm glad I have zero opportunity to watch this opening series. Flyers on Comcast tonight with Verizon Fios. I can't wait to win the powerball and make baseball free to all.

3 and a 1/3 innings tonight for Doc.

R.I.P. to a hero.

How are all these $20M+ contracts working out for the Phillies?

Maholm is throwing 88mph tonight.
Halladay is throwing 90mph..
I don't get it? I really don't get it. If he's not hurt why is his location so freaking terrible??

Hopefully the weather forcast is correct and there's no game tomorrow, cause we can't beat these guys right now.

I know so many fans want to fart flowers, ride unicorns, ad sit on rainbows, but get real. This team isn't good. They are flawed in so many ways. They honestly will challenge the Mets for 4th place in the NL East this year.

Charlie Manuel looks sad, old, and defeated in the clubhouse tonight. As much as I think he's a shit manager, I feel a little sorry for him.

Beer-a-Thon said...

I don't feel sorry for him. He's one of the many flaws of this team.

To hell with this season already.

Ok. Is the 9 strikeouts accurate for 3 and a 1/3 or am I looking at a bad line. That is just odd to me? Scream inconsistent location. Maybe there is hope. I seriously believe he might have the cancer. Something is very wrong with Roy.

Halladay set a record for 9 strike out is a 3.1 inning outing. Like I give a shit though.

1st and 2nd no outs down 7 runs.....
Why the hell is J-Stroll swinging at a 2-0 pitch???

Ben said...

Team RISP- 1 for 11. World Series here we come.

Aaron said...

WOW.....two complete horseshit calls by the homeplate umpire...
Howards K was a foot inside and Young was called for interference for running literally right on top of the baseline. WTF

WSBGMs is about to become a very ugly place.

Umpires are stupid.

Charlie Manue is stupid.

Ruben Amaro Jr. is stupid.

Okay, seriously...when is Charlie gonna learn that Papelbon is ridiculously bad in non-save situations. There is no reason he should be in the game. None.

Anonymous said...

Papelbon in that situation is crap.

If there's a silver lining to the sucking, when the Phils return to Atlanta for the final series of the year, I'm 99.9% sure they will be managed by Ryne Sandberg.

GM-Carson said...

Ryne Sandberg couldn't save this team from its ugly destiny.

They have eliminated the use of paper, so there is no faxing anymore involved in order to obtain your fast loan. On the other hand, you can take advantage of money for many financial purposes whether it may be intended for electricity bills, telephone bills, home renovation, credit card dues, wedding planning expenses, unpaid grocery bills and lots more. That technological boom has advanced and popularized the online loan segment to great extent. It is a great way search bargain shopping for the things that one needs.
