WSBGMs Turns 7

We are the old school gangsters of this blog game. We've been kickin' it since the beginning of the 2006 season and today we turn 7 years old. Happy birthday to us. We Should Be GMs is awesome. Said.

Doc still look F'ing terrible. He looks like he has no idea where the ball is going. I'm not to concerned with his velocity, it's his control that worries me. His location is awful. If he is actually healthy, I see Doc throwing a lot of 6 inning 4 run outings

I hate that this is happening to Halladay. Hard to see a hero fall.

10 base runners allowed over 4.1 innings today for Doc. That's not good.

This is good.

And with Charlie Manuel's well known predilections for Laynce Nix and John Mayberry, Jr., and the front office's outstanding commitment to Delmon Young as the everyday rightfielder, Brown might find his playing time squeezed no matter how well he's hitting the ball.

Happy Birthday! Seven years is quite an immense accomplishment, though I've only been reading for one and a half.

Halladay has a 1.84 WHIP this spring. I'm just amazed how quickly he's imploding. Usually when all time pitching talents talents come towards the end, they slowly fade off, or if they do fall of a rapid cliff, they're extremely old (Steve Carlton is a prominent example of the latter). Doc is neither. I really hope this stops in the season, because otherwise his once sure Hall of Fame candidacy is toast.

Pitching is mechanical. Years of throwing innings (and in Doc's case many) screw that up because the body has to adapt to the deteriation. Greg Maddux was a good example of someone could adjust. Pedro, even in his short stint here in 2009 seemed to get it. It's a growing spurt. Look at how awesome Brett Saberhagen was in the day, but look at the struggles he had trying to adjust to the simple fact aforementioned.

I'm just hoping Doc can take the ball every 5th day and keep his ERA under 4. That would really help.

Happy Birthday, guys! No matter how the Phils are doing, you always help me enjoy and understand the season a lot more. As Sarge would say, continued success!
