*Ryan Howard is locked in, hitting .444/1.254, with 3 doubles, a homerun, 5 RBI, and only 4 K in 18 AB.
*Dom Brown is making a strong bid for one of the corner outfield spots, hitting .385/1.523, with 2 homeruns, and 6 walks.
*The catching situation seems rather bleak. Outside of Carlos Ruiz, who is suspended for the first 25 games of the season, the catchers are batting a collective .105 (2-19). They've also not gunned down a base thief yet, as teams are a perfect 9-9 in stolen base attempts.
*Darin Ruf has collected some hits since the last update, 3 to be exact. However, his defense has been atrocious.
*Jump for joy that Mike Adams made an injury-free appearance. People were worried he'd end up out for the season like Chris Carpenter, who also had thoracic outlet syndrome surgery.
*Both Cole Hamels and RoLo (aka- Rodrigo Lopez) have yet to allow a run through 5 innings apiece.
*Competition for the final two bullpen spots is far from riveting, as all of Raul Valdes, Michael Stutes, Justin De Fratus, and BJ Rosenberg have an ERA of 9.00 or higher.
Team Stats
*Record- 3-3-1
*Offense- .260/.749 with 38 runs scored. Meh.
*Pitching- 5.86 ERA, 1.65 WHIP, and 11 HR allowed. Overall, they have been one of the worst staffs thus far.
*The Phillies have committed 12 errors in 7 games. Not good.

Bull Pen Prediction:
R Papelbon - Closer
R Adams - 8th Inning Set-up
L Bastardo - 7th Inning
R Aumont - 7th Inning
R Durbin - Long Man
L Horst - LOGGY
L Diekman - LOOGY
It will be interesting to see what happens if Ruf continues to struggle. Who plays while Young is still hurt? Probably a Mayberry/Ruf platoon. Good to see Dom doing so well.
Really no sense in a platoon of Mayberry and Ruf since they both crush lefties and bat right-handed.
SirAlden- I am with you on that bullpen prediction, except for Diekman. I think Stutes or De Fratus could easily slot in there.
Howard and Dom each with their 3rd HR of the spring today.
KK and Horst pitched like crap.
Diekman 5 K in 2 IP.
Phils pitching has been horrific.
Holy Moley!
Out of the Park!
