Welcome Back Rodrigo

Did you read/hear the big news?  Ruben Amaro inked Rodrigo Lopez to a minor league contract.  That's right, he's back!

Rodrigo was with the Phillies in 2009 and appeared in 7 games, having started 5 of them and winning 3 of them.  Career stats: 81-89, 257 G, 215 GS, 1350.2 IP, 865 K, 4.82 ERA, and a 1.42 WHIP.  He is 37 years old and right-handed.

He's nothing more than a veteran presence at Triple-A and organizational depth.  Having traded away Vance Worley from the MLB rotation and Trevor May from the minor league rotation, the Phils needed a guy like this.

Nats Sign Rafi S.

Perfect move - making all the games shorter for the young starters, saving their arms.

WildCard here we come.

Nats are superior to the Phillies. Phils will be lucky to get a wild card. I see about an 84 win team as currently constructed.

Lets bet over under 87 Wins.
Over I win. Under you Win.

87 Goldilocks and FuriousBall Wins and we both send him lots of Beer.

Washington is scary. Insanely scary. I think Washington, Cincinnati, and San Fran will all repeat their division titles, none of which will be particularly close races. The wild card race however will be a very close and fun contest between the Phillies, Braves, Dodgers, and Cardinals. I'd probably pick the last two of those to make it as of now.

I love some of your optimism, actually thinking this is a team that will win more than 87 games.

Thanks for the laughs this morning.
