We should start a Campaign Cheer like movement and have that be the fight song at the next home game.

Looks like no deal for Lopez.

GM-Carson said...

Yep, Amaro put the brakes on the Lopez deal. Shame, he's good and cheap.

Denard Span to the Nationals, meaning they don't need Bourn. Hope to hell Amaro doesn't sign him. I could she his contract being complete shit after 1 season.

The Phils are one of 6-7 teams needing CF with 7 good CF available. One that can field good is the way to go. Victorino, Pagan, and Bourn (too expensive) are the best free agents with several available by trade. By the Phils waiting a bit they may find a bargain on one of the better players. If not then a trade may occur for a Fowler or Bourjos. Who knows maybe Hamilton will come cheap(er) than thought.

GM-Carson said...

Borgous yes. Fowler, hell no.

Vic on a 2 year $14M deal would be alright.

Chase Trillo said...

Pagan for 3/27 would be better.

I agree on bourjos and Victorino. Scheirholtz non tendered. Not sure if he or.Nix is better.

Phil's in hot pursuit of Angel Pagan. I prefer him to Bourne because of price.

In case it wasn't already apparent to everyone, I'd recommend not clicking on Anonymous' link above. Pretty obvious phishing/redirect attempt.

Pagan 4 years 36 mi to 40 million would be good. Glad to see he is there target now. Good speed, Good defense, good contact hitter who can bat lead off. Also don't lose our first round draft pick.
Would leave enough money to get another bat and set up man.

Alfonso Soriano being shopped by Cubs. 2 years $36M left on his contract. If Chicago ate about $16-$20M of that contract, then I'd consider him for right-handed pop in the OF for the Phils. Just a thought...

Chase Trillo said...

Just say no to Soriano. Just say no.

I say go for Pagan, Hamilton, and Uehara and call it an off-season.
