Starting at third base for the Philadelphia Phillies and batting 8th, Michael Martinez.
Charles Fuqua Manuel, the strategic managerial genius that he is, went with Mini-Mart over Pete Orr, Ty Wigginton, Placido Polanco, or Kevin Frandsen. Although none of them are world-beaters, they're a boatload better than Martinez. He rolls into today's game with a career batting average of .177 and .499 OPS (.122/.380 this season). He does not belong in Major League Baseball, and I honestly don't understand why he remains. He's versatile, but so are thousands of other players throughout the minors and they'll never sniff a MLB roster. Yet, here we are in year 2 of the Michael Martinez shit show, and it's getting horrible ratings. When will Amaro cancel it and yank it off the air?
Now watch that sack of shit go 3-4 with a homerun.
