Make-Up Game Tidbits

*Justin DeFratus has the most innings pitched out all MLB pitchers with a 0.00 ERA.  Of course, that's only 6 IP, but still...

*Cole Hamels (4.0) and Cliff Lee (3.6) are in the top 20 for pitchers in WAR.  Hell, Cliff's actual win total barely eclipses his Wins Above Replacement.

*Melky Cabrera is likely to win the NL batting title.  Bullshit!

*Miguel Cabrera (no relation to the aforementioned cheater) has a chance to win the Triple Crown.  He's currently 1st in batting average- .333, 2nd in homeruns- 41 (1 behind Josh Hamilton), and 1st in RBI- 130.  I want to see it happen in my lifetime, so now is as good as time as ever.

*Jimmy Rollins is 2nd in homeruns among MLB shortstops with 22, and tied for 4th in stolen bases with 30.  He's still an elite SS.  I just wish he hit for a little higher average and got on base more.

*The Cardinals are 9 games above .500, Dodgers 5, and the Brewers 4.  At 75-74 with only 13 games left to play, it's nearly impossible to grab the 2nd Wild Card.  St. Louis is taking care of business against the Astros, unlike the Phils did this past weekend.  I'm still pissed!

*Tyler Cloyd has only pitched 7 innings total in his last 2 starts.  I'm hoping for at least 6 quality ones tonight.  BTW- shocking to see him striking out a batter an inning (20 K/20 IP), because I was told by the omnipotent people of the Internet that he didn't have the "stuff" to make it in the Majors.

If we had a real manager who put Jimmy in the lineup where he belongs (6th), I'd be more than ok with his low average since his defense, pop, speed, and being a lifetime Phillie to date make up for that. I just can't stand him leading off.

8 runs in the top of the 1st. Where the hell did that come from?

Cloyd better pick up the W tonight.

How about them Astros hurting the Phils - beat Phils 3 out of 4 games then turn around and lose 3 to Cards! That one series hurt bad

Yeah. That series cost us a real shot. Granted they still have a tiny shot and probably can only lose 1 or 2 games the rest of the year, but that Houston series is what most likely did us in (even more so with the Dodgers and Cards going against each other at the same time).

Cards lost

While I think the Houston series screwed us up too much, I really think Milwaukee is going to catch those Cards.
