All those super smart sabermetricians have been force feeding the internet with stats and graphs that "support" the notion that Cliff Lee is still a great pitcher despite his escalating ERA and the fact that he has
ZERO wins. Um, no. Go ahead and BABIP, FIP, and xFIP until you raise your Jolly Roger, because this hombre ain't having it. But to be fair, I have created my own handy-dandy bar graph that shows some of the numbers that others are ignoring...you, know, like the ones that matter.

"cliff lee win watch" is under construction and will be up on monday
Another stat for your book..
On the 8 no decisions.
Where the game stood when Lee left the game:
5 ties,
2 ahead
1 behind
Agreed and Sad.
Cliffton was not Clutch in the Playoffs for the Phils or in the World Series for the Rangers.
Hope he is ok. We need him to figure it out.
Is Cliff Lee a good pitcher? Yes, I still believe so. Is he helping this team win? No, he is absolutely not, especially in the past few weeks. I'd rather have a mediocre player that helps the team win (Pierre, for example) than have a great player who is not performing great.
Please please please sell at the deadline. Shop Lee, Victorino, Thome, Pierre, wigginton, Nix,
trade either halladay or lee + victorino + polanco + pierre + thome + wiggy + mayberry
then sign hamels
bring up dom brown
bring up one of the guys they got for cliff lee just so amaro feels good about himself
fire cholly
release schneider
then we can talk about what to do next...
well apparently they're trading thome to the orioles
it's a start...
Lee is untradeable do to the money left on his contract.
Lee is untradeable do to the money left on his contract.
thome to the orioles
a class-a pitcher and a class-a cather to the phillies
like i said, it's a start...
I baseball referenced the new prospects. They both have shit stats, but the catcher is just 19.
now if we could only do something about our bumbling manager. he's gotta go if they are swept by a team in last place heading into the series. his moves continue to baffle and almost always backfire on this struggling team...
the phils should definitely try and move any or all of these players - blanton, kendrick, polanco, wigginton, pierre, and victorino.
some of those names may not be tradeable, so tie them in with a lee, papelbon, or pence.
speaking of trades, could the phils not get zach phillips who was DFA by the O's to make room for Thome? He couldn't be much worse than the slop we have out in the pen now, could he?
Hopefully Jim mashes for the O's and gets them into the playoffs. Go out in style.
My College coach once said when he stops yelling at you that means he's given up on you.
On that note, I have nothing more to say
Hamels, Papelbon, and Chooch are are all stars. Hats off to them, they're some of the few things that make me happy on this year's squad.
Id like to see a Hamels to the Rangers for Profar and Olt.
yeah profar and olt would be nice. doubt the rangers part with both.
Yankees just traded for that pitcher the Phillies DFA last week - what's his name? Bullpen arm:-D:-D:-D:-D
The guy pitched batting practice during games
Are we seeing the beginnings of a fire sale here?
hopefully bob d, hopefully.
I think this sweep has been the ultimate proof that we're done. Utley's return and its psychological boost has lead to five losses. I'm not at all surprised RAJ has started the selling now.
I knew this season would be difficult to stomach, but never did I expect this level of shittiness.
