Tampa Bay Rays (38-31) @ Philadelphia Phillies (33-38)
Friday, 7:05- James Shields vs. Winless Lee
Saturday, 4:05- Alex Cobb vs. Oh no, it's KK
Sunday, 1:35- David Price vs. Cole Hamels
The Crocodile Hunter Killer's Batting:
R - 295 (18th)
AVG - .234 (27th)
OPS - .697 (24th)
Luke Scott, team RBI leader, is on the DL. Matt Joyce, team homerun/OPS leader, is banged up and day-to-day. Evan Longoria is still on the DL. Carlos Pena sucks (.599 OPS). Ben Zobrist doesn't like hitting for average (.230). BJ Upton isn't worth the hype (.267/.719). In other words, this is a struggling offense, but will still probably put up a 10-spot in the KK game.
The Crocodile Hunter Killer's Pitching:
ERA - 3.49 (6th)
WHIP - 1.24 (6th)
BAA - .235 (3rd)
Great pitching, even without the services of pine tar cheating Joel Peralta. All three of the Rays starting pitchers this series are quality, Price being the best. Closer, Fernando Rodney, is having a pretty amazing season so far with a 1.10 ERA, 0.77 WHIP, and 20 saves.
Their Michael Martinez:
Starting catcher, Jose Molina, is hovering right around the Martinez-line, batting .198 with a .622 OPS. At 37 years old, it was inadvisable to rely on the lesser of the Catching Molina Brothers to be a consistent and solid contributor, but that's what happens when you're penny-pinching like the Rays.
Their Danys Baez:
JP Howell and his 5.57 ERA get this dishonor, but even he is serviceable as a lefty specialist.
