If this were a school year, the Phillies just finished their 1st marking period, having played their 41st game which is a quarter of the season. Therefore, it only seems proper to dole out a report card.
Grades are based on expectations and overall performance. Defense is taken into account.

Excellent post.
A little hard on Polly. I will take .280 no former regulars are above him except for chooch.
Looking forward to the Pat Burrell Post and the has Ryan Howard been worth all is paychecks so far through 2011 post.
I'd also be a little kinder to Polly. .280 with no power and a good glove is exactly what I expected from him, so no qualms there. I'd give a way worse grade to Pence than you did, his strikeout rate is unacceptable, home runs be damned. I do think this is because in Howard's absence he is trying to step into his shoes, and he will improve upon Howard's return.
I would say even a little better on Juan Pierre, like a B+/A-. He's been able to counteract Jimmy's struggles, and sees a ton of pitches.
Lee with a stinker.
Bad series.
Back to .500
This might continue all season long.
86-76, 4th place. That's what I'll predict based on what I've seen so far.
