*The teenage sensation, the Wunderkind, the Natural, the adolescent phenom, the one and only uber-hyped Bryce Harper hit the first homerun of his career last night. He also committed an error. He also struck out. Oh yeah, he committed his first career Howard. Welcome to the list kid.
*Placido Polanco helped put the game away in the bottom of the 8th inning last night with a 2 run blast. It was his first homerun of the season and his 2000th career hit. Congratulations to Polly.
*Jordan Lyles scales the mound today for the Astros. He's made only one start this season, and gave up 3 runs over 6 innings. The 21 year old righy made his MLB debut in 2011, going 2-8 with a 5.36 ERA.
*Both Juan Pierre and Pete Orr made my Minor League Free Agent squad for 2012.
*Freddy Galvis has 15 RBI. Albert Pujols- 12. That doesn't mean Freddy is good, but it does mean that Pujols has been the biggest disappoint so far this season.
*Joe Blanton now has more wins (4) and a better ERA (2.96) and WHIP (1.07) than Roy Halladay.

I must say, other than the middle relief, the Phillies have actually looked like a winning team recently. I like this.
Facing Astros pitching and Padres offense helps.
2 run lead in the ninth and in comes... chad qualls? sounds about right.
and we're all tied up. unbel.., nope, very believable.
FUCK HUNTER PENCE!!!!!!!!
WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT!!!!!!!!!!
i'm not watching the game but from mlb's gamecast, it seems the 4 hits in 0.2 innings by qualls is where the blame lies.
also, let us not forget that papelbon worked three games in a row. the first coming in while losing!!!! great foresight, charlie.
The Phillies won an extra inning game? I'm going to go buy stocks today!
just don't buy facebook stock...
congrats to jake diekman on winning his first ever appearance. i guess it can only get worse after this...
Manuel is a dumbass with his closer. Won't let him pitch 3 straight games earlier in the season or go for 4 or 5 outs, but now pitches him 3 straight despite some non-save situations, and therefore isn't "available" today. IDIOT!!!
It was only the Astros they beat and almost lost.
