Today we focus on our hobbled first baseman, the 125 Million Dollar Man, Ryan Howard. After suffering a setback in his rehab from Achilles surgery, there is no timetable for his return. Optimistic predictions had him returning sometime in May before that, so June seems more likely now. Even when he does get back on the field, who knows what he'll be able to do...or not do. Manuel will hopefully play it safe, giving him days off against lefties. I foresee 2012 being a lost season for The Big Piece. 2012 Projection:
Ryan Howard/1B - 92 G, .233/.769, 41 R, 14 DBL, 16 HR, 53 RBI.
Over or under?

Hater.
Stupid, stupid, stupid contract.
And why am I a hater? Howard's health is anything but guaranteed. He's back in a boot for crying out loud.
He apparently won't be back until July. I would not be surprised to see a few more RBIs, about even with the HRs. If he comes back and plays every day. He might be eased back in.
July?! Holy F!
I want to punch Amaro in the face for signing Howard to an extension 2 seasons ago. So very, very dumb.

I'll take the over. When have we ever known Charlie to give anyone a regular day off, healthy or injured.
