Win or Lose?

No rah-rah hoopla today. Quick to the point, to the point no fakin'. Cookin' MCs like a pound of bacon...

I'm excited and it's only 10:20 in the morning. What am I going to do for the next 10 hours?

take a nap

Just went to get tickets off Stubhub for tonight's game, but after service charges the total was over $300 for 2 tickets. Uh, no thanks.

Corey said...

if the $300 is for two seats (not standing room), that is a steal b/c standing room for game one were like 90 bucks. however, i still wouldn't pay b/c i would rather watch from my couch.

i voted heart attack...but i committed to a family function back when i thought this series wouldn't go 5 games. now i may miss the first 2 innings or maybe even the first 5-6 innings. ugh. maybe i should fake an illness...

No rah rah is right. Fuckers better win. Nothing less than a WS championship will be a disappointment for this team.

GM-Carson said...

Hey, look, a graphic.

GM-Carson said...

3 jag offs picked the Phils to lose. Must be upset Yankee fans.

Or cronies of Andy Martino.

GM-Carson said...

Damn, there are more lose votes now than win.

I know it's playoff baseball but i've been kinda disappointed to not see our 3/4 aces go beyond 6 innings.

"No Worries" 2 Words.

"Roy Halladay" 2 Words.

4 Words.

Carson I almost bought 2 the other day for around $300 but elected to stay home and root for them.
The voting has 47 to win, 40 to lose, with 47 heart attacks.LOL

GM-Carson said...

I'm hoping the Phils go to the World Series this year, and when they do I'm buying tickets (screw cost!). I've been to NLDS and NLCS games, but never a WS game.

GM-Carson said...

I'm lining my man-cave with plastic in case they win tonight. I'm popping cork baby!

I was uber worried about this game all day, but just now i got my Halladay jersey and then a sudden confidence filled my entire being.

GM-Carson said...

I'm rocking my Utley jersey hoping for some big hits.

Preserve Jon said...

I've got my "saturday special" maroon Schmidt jersey on.

Let's do this!

GM-Carson said...

I wonder if the crowd is loud enough for J-Roll tonight.

Preserve Jon said...

Effin Schumaker. Swing and miss damnit.

GM-Carson said...

With Doc throwing roughly 35 pitches in the 1st and the Phils looking like they have no clue against Carpenter, my confidence meter just nearly bottomed out.

If the Phils lose this game, and hence the series, they are pieces of shit.

Carson - that champagne plastic lining can double as protection if they lose and you need a kill room. Just saying...

On a different note, I hope Nyjer Morgan tears his ACL in post-game celebrations. I hate that guy. "T-plush" - such a tool

Bob D said...

2nd inning looks much better

GM-Carson said...

Morgan was screaming "Fuck Yeah" like 4 times and TBS didn't bleep it. Idiots...both TBS and T-Plush.

Dave said...

For the love of all things holy, would someone PLEASE get a hit! And then the next guy, and then the next. Need a couple of innings where we put hits together.

GM-Carson said...

Need a big inning. 3+ runs would kick ass.

GM-Carson said...

I honestly don't know if I can continue blogging about this team if they lose this game, because all it will ever be until they win in the postseason will be straight bitching. That would be at least a year worth of nothing but bitching.

Some of you are probably thinking...and that would be different from now?

Preserve Jon said...

Why do the Phillies never hire a pitching coach whose philosophy is to swing early on pitchers who are attacking the strike zone and be patient versus pitchers who are wild. Anyone?

Pujols was almost walking down to first on that grounder. He must be seriously hurting. I'm wondering if Howard is hurting more than we know too. He's standing waaaaaaaaay off the plate. I'm not a video game guy, but I keep reaching for the controller to move him closer to the plate. Maybe it's to compensate for some sort of core injury. (Note: this could be wishful thinking.)

Preserve Jon said...

No mention on the TBS broadcast that Utley was safe. Let's just jerk the Cardinals chain a little more, shall we?

Guccione sucks. Angel Hernandez sucks. Jerry Lane sucks. This series sucks. This team....well you see were I'm going.

GM-Carson said...

Game not over, but it seems like it is.

This offense, as I stated before the season started is the death of this team.

GM-Carson said...

Also- Chase Utley is playing like an idiot. Running into outs in back to back games in inexcusable.

Andrew said...

was he safe? no replay to look at but seems like he slid under the tag....

ACSmitty79 said...

running out of ABs...

Preserve Jon said...

After showing shots of Lee warming up in the 7th did anyone else get worried that the Manuel would screw up the double switch and have Lee pitch for only one inning?

Ruiz has to know that even with the pitcher running he must GET AN OUT. Since he directs traffic on these plays regularly there should be a little voice in his head telling him to make the right decision.

This game is spiraling out of control.

Preserve Jon said...

Andrew - I will concede to TBS and Chris Guccione that he was out.

Andrew said...

I guess if it was a closer play, you would have seen more protesting by Chase and Charlie. Agreed.

Preserve Jon said...

Benny Fresh or Mayberry hitting for Doc?

None of this Gload crap.

Preserve Jon said...

I am disgusted.

Andrew said...

oh good, Ryan Howard. Remember his last at bat of 2010? See you in April

Preserve Jon said...

I repeat, I am disgusted.

Jeremy said...

3 hits, 3 fucking hits. Well this team goes down into notorious history again, first franchise to 10,000 loses and now the team franchise record regular season wins goes bust in the first round. Fuck, talk to you all in the end of March

SirAlden said...

Character Building.

1976 and 1977 ended the same way.

Thank you our 2011 Phillies for the greatest regular season ever for our storied franchise.

Need some Bats. Lowest Hitting WAR of all the top 10 teams.

Aaron said...

It's time to blow this team up. The entire infield needs to go. Oswalt needs to go. The bullpen needs a make over.
Rollins, Utley, Howard and Polly all need to go, there best days are far behind them.

Bob D said...

Thanks for a great season Philles, bummer not to advance.
No need to blow anything up

GM-Carson said...

I don't thank them for a great season because honestly that amounts to a big heap of shit. This team was built for the World Series and they didn't make it there. Fail.

Randy said...

Given this line up of "aces," gold glovers, MVPs, HR hitters, led by a hitter's manager...this season is 100% disappointing. Any team that loses most of it's games after Labor Day...well, look what happens if they scrape into October. and again, the lasting, final image is of Howard the K looking pathetic.

See you when pitchers and fathers report.
