David Herndon - 1 IP, 3 H (3 HR), 3 ER
When Herndon came into the game last night, we all should have seen that it wasn't going to end well. Take a look at a picture of Herndon pitching in last night's game and you'll notice some glaring issues:
1) Herndon needed a pitching screen to prevent injury from batted balls.
2) He was allowed to pitch at the Little League distance from a portable platform instead of the regulation mound.
3) He needed an entire bucket of balls, like he knew most pitches would not be coming back to him.
4) There doesn't appear to be any fielders on the left side of the infield. I'm assuming they either just stayed in the dugout or took position above the left field wall.

Ouch.
I thought he was the cook for one of the concessions since he was serving up so many taters
Did I just here a drummer go rim shot?
Maybe he should try underhand slow pitching. it works for an inning or two with Levan down in DC
Can't wait to hear MLB,s BS explanation for reviewing a non reviewable play.
herndon's lost his good.
Doesn't player interference usually mean the play in question is redone?
All replay bs aside, I got the impression as I listened to the game while doing yardwork that the Marlins have a real two-bit operation down there. Franzke and LA were talking about a woman who got hit by a bat in the stands that could not be tended to properly b/c apparently the only EMT teams in the stadium were tending to a child who had been hit by a batted ball. (This of course is all circumstantial, they had no way of knowing how many EMT teams there are in the stadium - I understand that.) Then LA and Franzke seemed to criticize Joe Robbie stadium staff for not turning the lights on when the sky was pitch black and then not even turning the lights on while it was raining. I got the impression that the stadium is a dump and no one will shed a tear for the stadium when the Marlins finally leave.
What was the total paid attendance for the weekend - 3 dozen?
Joe West is bullshit.
They also forgot to put the bases out at one point, and had a machine break down in outfield, both which caused minor delays
What was Herndon's line last night? 3.2 innings, 5 hits, 7walks????
Herndon threw 69 pitches, only 27 for strikes.
Kudos on creativity here! Well played!
Enjoyed every bit and thanks for the Sample Evaluations!!
