Another Rain Delay...

3 rain delays in the last 4 games. Noah better build another ark.

Stuff:
*Cole Hamels hopes to make his return to the rotation Friday against the Marlins.

*Polanco says he's feeling better and is trying to get activated tomorrow to start the series against the Mets.

*J-Roll had to leave the game early today with a groin issue. I sure hope Polly comes back, because I'm not sure how long I could stomach a left side of the infield on Martinez and Valdez if this injury proves to be serious.

*Listening/watching Jay$on Werth get booed in DC by both Nationals and Phillies fans is a guilty pleasure.

*We all know Phillies fans travel well, because T-Mac and Wheels talk about it every single away game, but Phans completely take over Nationals Ballpark. It's hilarious.

Madson, Lidge, and Bastardo had very bad weekend (Friday/Sunday). Phils absolutely need them to go far in the playoffs, so this have better only had been a hiccup.

Tony Bastard made one bad pitch but Lidge looked downright awful today. I think Schwimer did a nice job too, but was this the best situation to introduce him to the majors?

Booing Werth was so much fun. He even tipped his hat to the booing crowd when he first came out to the field Sat night.

Too me Lidge proved he is not ready to come in when it counts. Bastardo has been so good I can't bitch about him much. And Madson.. he needs to get right back in there as soon as possible. He's been excellent all year.. I know he was not available today but to shy away from him will not help his confidence, and I speak of upcoming games.

Bastardo an Madson will be fine. I honestly believe that. Aside from the 1 bad pitch, Bastardo was excellent today.

Lidge still has something left in the tank, but more so for less stressful game situations, ideally not the 10th inning of a tie game.

I just saw how that shit ended.. that dude never even tried to get out of the way.

Gomes had his protective elbow pad on, so of course he's not moving.

WTF--World Series-quality BPs dont fuck up with a team like the Nats. And I still say, Madson is not a closer.

Randy- I agree that Madson is not a long term answer at closer. People talk about small sample sizes before when he did a shitty job. Well, his sample size of success is pretty small too. He's far from proven.
