Series Preview - Padres

Philadelphia Phillies (61-36) vs. San Diego Padres (44-55)

Season Series:
Philles 4-0 Padres

Pitching Matchups:
Friday, 7:05 - Cole Hamels v. Cory Luebke
Saturday, 4:10 - Kyle Kendrick v. Mat Latos
Sunday, 1:35 - Roy Halladay v. Tim Stauffer
Monday, 1:05 - Cliff Lee v. Aaron Harang

Fathers Batting:
Runs - 344 (29th)
AVG - .234 (29th)
OBP - .303 (29th)
SLG - .334 (29th)

Fathers Pitching:
ERA - 3.16 (4th)
WHIP - 1.27 (9th)
BAA - .246 (8th)

Their Michael Martinez:
28 year old middle infielder Alberto Gonzalez is like most 28 year old utility infielders - relatively useless. You may remember Gonzalez from last season when he played and didn't hit for Washington. He's taken his "talents" to the left coast and is currently batting .210 and slugging .274. Although, he did have back-to-back multi-hit games in May, so maybe he is good...

Their Danys Baez:
None. They have no garbage pitchers on their roster.

What We're Drinking:
Corey - I'll be chillin' in Dewey Beach for a week so I'll be drinking lots of water and light beer that goes down easy all day long. Miller Lite will be my first choice because of it's excellent ABV to carbohydrate ratio. Natty Boh will get a run out because I'm straight ghetto. Irish Eyes has $1.50 Pabst Blue Ribbon drafts all day every day. A few bottles of Sol will also get cracked. Sol is like Corona, except it's cheaper and doesn't taste as much like cat urine. As much.

Carson - visiting Joboy's Brew Pub in Manheim and Bube's Brewery in Mount Joy tomorrow. First trip to Joboy's, but I've heard great things about their grub. Been to Bube's (pronounced "boobies") many times and they constantly are changing up their beers on tap. Food. Beer. Love.

Magic Number:

The Phils swept a four game series back in April, but we haven't had much luck predicting sweeps. So I'll say three out of four for the Fightins.

I had a vivid dream last night that the Phils lost 3-1. Hope this does not happen.

Last chance to register for the free 1-day fantasy baseball league for cash prizes.

Guys...$1 PBRs from the tap at Nicola's on the Avenue in rehoboth during all Phillies games. Sit at the bar to avoid lines. PBR is at least as drinkable as Natty, better than cat piss.

Preserve Jon said...

PBR has morphed from cheap standy to hipster swill.

Which means I will absolutely drink it.

GM-Carson said...

I've noticed PBR has become kinda retro-cool. It's like the uppity college crowd with mommy and daddy's money "slumming it".

Lidge hasn't thrown a pitch for the Phils this season, but has helped them tremendously. Activated today and Baez Sucks DFA'd.

I like anything pronounced "boobies", especially boobies.

Baez DFA'd.. Party's on me. But seriously. When is the WSBGM's tailgate you spoke of a month or so ago?

GM-Carson said...

Tailgate will have to wait until August. Corey and my schedule's didn't line up.

GM-Carson said...

Well done Cole. Well done.

Yet again M&M's BA goes up.

You got the 3-1 Score Right GM-Carson!

Please tell us if you have any other good dreams with numbers in them so we can go bet the reverse.
