Series Preview - Giants

San Francisco Giants (59-43) @ Philadelphia Phillies (64-37)

Pitching Match-Ups:

Tuesday, Tim Lincecum vs. Vance Worley
Wednesday, Barry Zito vs. Cole Hamels
Thursday, Matt Cain vs. Kyle Kendrick
*7:05 game times

They Might Be Giants Bats:
RUN - 369 (27th)
AVG - .243 (25th)
OBP - .308 (25th)
SLG - .361 (24th)

Offense pretty bad.

They Might Be Giants Arms:
ERA - 3.08 (1st)
WHIP - 1.21 (2nd)
BAA - .229 (1st)

Pitching pretty amazing.

Their Michael Martinez:
So many to choose from, but we'll go with Emmanuel Burriss. With a .493 OPS in 48 games (129 at bats) his only redeeming value is his speed (10 sb). What keeps him on the roster? He can play 2nd, SS, 3rd, and OF of course. Versatility is the ultimate weapon. Ha.

Their Danys Baez:
Every single pitcher that has hurled a pitch for San Fran this season has an ERA under 4, aside from Zito and this dude- Dan Runzler. And just like Baez, Runzler is no longer on the roster. He made 18 appearances before the Giants got wise to his ways with a 6.41 ERA and 1.58 WHIP.

The Phillies have been on an unbelievable run (9 straight series won) and something has gotta give. Debbie Downer in the house and she's predicting 2 of 3 for the bad guys.

Too bad tonight's game isn't on ESPN. If Worley outpitches Lincecum, "Vanimal" might gain some national notoriety.

I think we win 2 of 3. Our bats have been hot this month.

If they beat Lincecum tonight then there's a good chance of taking 2 of 3.

I tend to agree Carson. All respect to Halladay, but Cole is our best pitcher this year and I think he steps up to the challenge tomorrow. I was going to quote a couple stats but I'm wary of a jinx.

I predict the phils surprise us tonight and beat up on the pot head a little bit tonight.

4-1 Phils already. Didn't expect that many runs scored the entire game.

GM-Carson said...

Wait, what the hell happened to Timmy? I thought he was supposed to start tonight.

Holy crap, Chase Utley is awesome. 3rd career inside-the-park homerun.

NL be warned, the real Chase Utley is back.
