Mad at Amaro

According to the omnipotent Ruben Amaro Jr., Domonic Brown is "not ready to do it". Shut the front door!

Yes, Domonic Brown, one of the top rated prospects in all of baseball over the last few years is not ready. Domonic Brown who is currently batting .341/.968 in Triple-A right now is not ready. Domonic Brown who has dominated AA and AAA over the past two seasons is not ready. Yeah, okay.

Yet, Michael Martinez, who has never showed up on any prospect list is ready. The Rule 5 pick that is 28 years old and is currently batting .194/.431 deserves a chance to show his worth because he is ready. The same Michael Martinez that the lowly Nationals didn't even care to protect is ready. Yeah, sure.

This makes no sense!

What kinda of f'd up world are we living in? This site's name- We Should Be GMs, was created because of profound stupidity like this. Center fielder, Shane Victorino, just went to the DL with something between a Grade 1 and 2 strain of the right hamstring. Brown seems like the logical call-up, yet Amaro refuses to do so. This means more of Mini-Mart playing CF and batting 2nd, which consequently equals less scoring and more losing. Not sure who the call-up will be, but I am sure they'll suck.

On a more positive note, Joe Blanton went back on the DL with right elbow pain. Vance Worley is likely to replace him on the roster and in the rotation. Yippie!

Now for some good luck...

RAJ, Cholly and Dubes are FING KILLING ME!!!!
Couldn't agree more Carson...How the hell is D Brown not ready? He has mastered the minor leagues. He is not going to learn and get better facing minor league pitching. He needs to face major league pitching and play everyday!!!!!!!!!!! And what exactly is it that RAJ is waiting for, for D Brown to be ready....Does he have to hit .500??
Mini Mart has got to go!!!!!!

As far as im concerned last nights game was lost by cholly and dubes. All this time we have been saying why not just let Blanton rest until he's 100% and let Worley keep pitching?....but instead those fuck-tards decided it was a better move to let Joe B pitch through pain.........well last night we saw the result, Kendrick two identical 87 mile per hour puss balls right in Giambi's happy zone.

And they F'd up Victorino to. Because those friggen idiots used him to sac bunt the other day now he is not eligible to come off the DL until June 3rd. I will guarantee you Shane is going to be ready before then.

And why the F are the Phillies using Cliff Lee as a pinch hitter last night in the rain when they have already seen Carlos Gonzalez get hurt??????

The offense drives me crazy but i understand it because we are fielding a AAA lineup. What really pisses me off is the way the Phillies "brain" trust is handling buisiness right now.

CALL UP D BROWN HE'S READY!!!!!!

CALL UP CHASE UTLEY HE'S READY!!!!!!!

RELEASE MINI MART THE NATS PROBABLY WONT WANT HIM BACK ANYWAY!!

BEAZ SUCKS, SUCKS!! RELEASE HIM.

START WORKING ON A TRADE FOR A RIGHT HANDED OUTFIELD BAT TO PULL OFF BEFORE THE TRADE DEADLINE.

ALSO WHY DO ROLLINS AND HOWARD ALWAYS SUCK AT THE SAME TIME!!!!!.....ANYBODY EVER NOTICE THAT??

I WANT THIS.....
ROLLINS
POLANCO
UTLEY
HOWARD
RIGHT HANDED BAT
VICTORINO
BROWN
RUIZ

GET IT DONE RAJ!!!!

waaaay to early in the season to get all crazy. I agree that Martinez sucks and should be let go pronto, but I understand the team taking it easy on D Brown - he needs a few more weeks, in my opinion before bringing him up, to stay. Utley will be here soon, Brown not far behind, and a RH bat to help us out by the deadline, and we will all feel silly getting so worked up over one week of tough games when we win the series this year.....We are still in first place people.....

While we enjoy watching Worley pitch; i'm not cheering Blanton headed to the DL. We need Blanton to pitch and pitch well so we can trade him. I don't want to trade Worley (but they will anyway--I understand that's why Worley was sent back down)

As far as Brown, i heard they want him to get more ABs in Allentown because when he comes up he will be playing everyday right away and don't want to lose any rhythm.

That's fine by me, bring Brown up now and start playing him every day.

How long must we suffer through the current shit lineup until a change is made?

Oh, I know we're in 1st place, but you keep 1st place by continuing to win and always striving to get better. Not being complacent and chalking it up to injuries and "oh wells".

Dom Brown has only played 2-3 games since his latest injury. They want to see him play a bit before a call up, but my guess is next week he should be good to go. Utley could be back by early next week. Baez's days are numbered since Contreras maybe back shortly 1-2 weeks. Good to see Stutes is OK and still throwing strikes.
Aaron I agree Ruben needs to aquire a RH bat. I expect by Memorial day we will have:
Rollins
Utley
Polanco
Howard
Francisco/Mayberry/Ibanez/Gload - platoon in LF/CF
Brown
Ruiz

But Victorino could be out till mid June

When Utley & Brown are both back then Vic's replacement and Martinez or less likely Orr will be gone

If Brown is healthy he should be in Philly. End of story.

The thing that bugs me most about Amaro saying publicly that Brown is not ready is that it removes confidence from the kid going forward. When he does get called up does he have to worry that if he has a few bad days at the plate that he is going to get sent back down, benched, traded, etc.?

The Phillies management says some dumb stuff, and then doesn't say anything or attempt to hide when people are injured.

The Victorino bunting thing is horrible. Just bad. If he can't run he should not be in the game whatsoever. He is a bazillion times likely to do more serious damage to an injury.

Roy Oswalt is an excellent bunter. Should have let him bunt instead.

What the hell? Amaro is a liar. They just called up Brown.

What was the point of saying he's not ready yesterday then? Moron.
