'Bout to get Angry

GM-Carson: For the Phillies no runs on 2 hits. That's all we got is 2 god damn hits?
GM-Corey: You can't say god damn on blogspot.
GM-Carson: Don't worry, nobody is reading anyway.

Is anyone else growing tiresome of watching Ryan Howard striking out in big situations or to end a game?

Cliff Lee's 3.69 isn't anything special, and quite honestly needs to improve. His 16 K's last night were awesome and 60 this season are very impressive. However, the Phillies have only scored 1 run for him over his past 3 starts. Pathetic.

David Herndon made his minor league debut for the Phillies and did exactly what should be expected- 2 IP, 5 H, 2 R. Bad.

Roy Oswalt hits the DL and the Phils decide to call up a struggling Triple-A reliever, Scott Mathieson. In 9 games this seasons he has a 4.61 ERA and 1.76 WHIP with 10 walks. Oh, he also has a 7.62 ERA in 11 MLB games. This is the answer?

While Domonic Brown wastes his talents in the minors (9 G, .371/1.122, 9 R, 8 RBI, 3 HR), Michael Martinez continues to earn a MLB paycheck for sucking (.167/.417). I hate that he is on this team. Screw versatility. If the Phils want versatility, buy a Leatherman.

Have faith my friends, Kyle Kendrick starts today. Wait, what?

Before you go telling me the Phillies are tied for the best record in baseball or that it was only one game...don't bother. This wouldn't be WSBGMs if we weren't bitching about something and despite that record, there are plenty negatives to focus on right now. Never be complacent. Complacency leads to future failure. If it ain't broke, don't fix it, does not apply to baseball unless everything is in perfect working order, because there's always someone aiming to take king's throne.

One more thing- Baez Sucks.

Lee is this year's Hamels.

Brown needs to be called up.

Lose Martinez.

Fast track Utley.

Keep Worley starting.

Give Ruiz some Ibuprofen and send him back out there.

Replace Martinez with Brown
Keep Stutes and Worley up
Baez can go - his luck has seem to have left him
Blanton, Oswalt, and Ruiz may all be back on the team by next weekend.
Contreras and Utley may not be too far behind them, maybe June 1ish

And the 7th last night was just horrible, 2 hits no outs - and the next 3 hitters (Howard, Francisco, Ibanez) all strike out. Nice job!

"if it ain't broke, don't fix it" doesn't apply to basebal... unless it does. ?? i'll have to think about that one.

everything else i agree on completely. i'm overwhelmingly convinced this offense isn't good enough to run away from the pack, despite the pitching staff. once utley is back i'll re-evaluate.

and to further the howard talk, i'm certainly not content with his performance. and i don't think anybody should be happy with a .270 average and a mid-800 OPS for our highest paid hitter. just to remind, here are his trending OPS numbers the last 6 years.

hey GM-Carson, is that money well spent?

Philly hangs on to their Rule 5 guys like a baby on its momma's ***. It's ridiculous. Herndon is a great example of someone who should have been dismissed to the minors last year.

Baez is an example of why you don't commit multi-millions and multi-years to mediocre reliever. Good chance they'll turn to shit and burn you.
