I know all you WSBGMs readers were deeply saddened by the news of big-headed round-bellied Dennys Reyes failing his physical and not becoming an official Phucco. Well, cheer up my chaps, because Ruben Amaro heard your cries and went out and signed Delwyn Young to a minor league contract. That's right, Delwyn, who mysteriously isn't related to the baseball brothers Delmon and Dmitri, might end up being the 25th man on the roster and therefore a Phucco. Go ahead, commence rejoicing.
Young has spent the past 2 seasons with the Pirates and the previous 3 with the Dodgers. In 5 seasons, the switch hitting 28 year old has posted a .258 average and .710 OPS while playing 2nd base and corner outfield. So, unless Manuel decides to go with an unconventional 11 man pitching staff because of the Phab Phour's ability to eat innings, then Delwyn will be competing for the final bench spot with Michael Martinez, Pete Orr, Jeff Larrish, Robb Quinlan and John Mayberry.
Pictured above is Delwyn clubbing with what seems to be Ryan Howard's sister.
