Insides the Numbers:
*The Phillies won all 8 games in which a player on the team committed The Howard.
*Mark Reynolds is the reigning co-winner of this
*Stephen and JD "Battery" Drew are the first brother combo to be on the list.
*Alex Gonzalez was the only player to display his brute force, whiffness, and butchery for two teams (Blue Jays and Braves).
*Danny Valencia was the first player to ever commit a double Howard in the same game (fanning twice with 2 bombs and 2 misplays).
*2010 witnessed 82 different culprits be credited with The Howard (down 8 from '09). 112 Howards were awarded in all (up 1 from '09).
*The Howards of 2010 will now be archived near the bottom of the left sidebar.

My playoff predictions.
Phightins win it all!
Amazing that Alvarez did it in only 95 games, basically Howarding at the same rate as Howard and Reynolds
I bet David Wright waxed his eyebrows angrily the night he got a Howard.
Supposed NLDS Roster:
OFFENSE:
IF: Howard, Sweeney, Utley, Polanco, Rollins, Valdez, Dobbs, Ruiz, Schneider (9)
OF: Werth, Victorino, Ibanez, Gload, Francisco, Brown (6)
PITCHING:
SP: Halladay, Hamels, Oswalt, Blanton
RP: Lidge, Madson, Romero, Durbin, Contreras, Bastardo.
Only 10 pitchers surprises me, but really it makes sense.
Phillies Magic# at 11
The team has the option to make a change between series if needed. In a best of 5 and having the big 3 H2O, why would this team need any more than 6 relievers + Blanton? Dobbs I am sure is insurance incase both Rollins and Polanco are both out in the same game. Valdez can only play one position at a time. Brown is there for pinch runner and extra lefty bat.
I love the idea of The Howard. I love this site. Scott Eyre going to throw out the Ceremonial First Pitch tomorrow... any chance someone ambushes him and throws him in our bullpen?
