Disappointing end. They need to re-sign Valdez. He's proven he can be productive in 70 infield startsd. Then Rollins, Utley, and Polanco need to be told they are playing a target of 135-140 games. Older players in this post-steriod, greenies era need to play less. Every thirty-something Phillie looked tired or nursing something nagging.Anyway, great job this year- enjoyed following along. See you next spring.
Another great season and also a great season of blogging. Thanks to you guys for keeping us all informed and entertained. 3.5 months until pitchers and catchers report. Of course there is the hot stove season as well. Having been a Phils fan for over 40 years the last three years have been wonderful. Baseball is so much more fun when they are not 10+ games out at the end of April. Thanks again guys.
I could write a book here, but I won't. Coulda-Woulda-Shoulda.Howard doesn't get paid 20M/Yr to coax a walk with runners on base, and in scoring position. He's paid to drive in runs. With that in mind, you don't take strike three with the game, AND THE SEASON, on the line. Period.I've enjoyed following and reading along here.
It would be cool if howard would swing the bat instead of staring at the pitcher wondering why he didn't just walk him. Hell, if he's going to do that, sign me for ONE GAME at his salary and I'll at least go down swinging. I'd be set for the year with that kind of scratch.
if it makes any Phillies fans feel any better, I defecated in a box of Rice-A-Roni in one Philadelphia area super market. There is no prize for finding said box, unless you are collecting crap.
Furiousball, do sport a Just-For-Men beard too?
We'll be blogging all offseason too. Not quite sure what we'll blog about yet, but some nonsense will come to us.
Thanks Corey, Thanks GM Carson!
