American Badass

6 innings of 2-run ball with 6 hits and 2 walks allowed- not really what we've become accustomed to from Roy Halladay. His fastball dipped below 90 mph and his curveball wasn't crisp. He must be tired having pitched all those innings this season and this mediocre performance by his standards is a direct result of that. Not quite. Doc had a pulled right groin, the leg he uses to push off of. That's why he didn't run out his bunt (foul or fair), and that's why his control was inconsistent and his pitches lacking life. This American Badass gutted out 6 innings on a pulled groin. Lesser men would have packed it in for the playoffs. Respect the beast that is Roy Halladay.

Some Playoff Stats:
*Ryan Howard has ZERO rbi and has struckout in half of his plate appearances (14 k, 28 ab).

*The Phillies as a team have struckout far more than they've hit (63 k, 54 h).

*Phils are averaging 3.875 runs per game (31 r, 8 g), and 8 of those runs have been unearned.

*Jayson Werth now has 13 postseason homeruns.

It was a gutsy...no...a groiny performance.

To say I was on the edge of my seat the entire game would be an understatement of the greatest proportion.

Roy Halladay is amazing. A Demi-God in Phillies History.

Not sure if anyone else caught this but McCarver called Greg Luzinski one of Philadelphia's greatest hitters with Chuck Klein. Someone needs to put McCarver and Fox's inaccurate graphics to rest.

Sir Alden- nice demi-god reference. Been watching some Clash of the Titans or Percy Jackson and the Lightning Thief?

you mean a pulled groin?

This series (&postseason) has been one of the sloppiest played on both sides in recent history. Alot of errors and alot of should be errors and misplays. A number of botched double plays that resulted in 1 out but not the key second out (thus it does not count as an error).

But I am looking forward to Hamels start on Sunday. Go Oswalt! Go Phillies!

I will have to watch them this weekend GM-Carson.

When Halladay did not run to first on his bunt I said "GEEZE!" American Leaguer RUN!

Now we know why.

And Greg Luzinski for a 4 year Period Lead the Phillies - in two of those years the Phillies Won 101 Games. Luzinski hit for a very high average. Micheal Jack was much more like Pat the Bat at the time, people who say why this! why that! because of his over thinking and low BA. Micheal Jack will tell you how good Greg "THE BULL" was.

Think Kruker on Steroids with more Power for twice as many years, and you have Greg Luzinski.
