Cuban Party

From L-R: Jose Contreras, Danys Baez, Fidel Castro, Mark Cuban (WTF is he doing there?), Livan Hernandez and Yunesky Maya.

The countrymen of Cuba are gonna have a party in Philly today. Rookie Maya gets the start for the Nationals while his teammate Livan cheers him on. In the other clubhouse are Contreras and Baez hoping to puff on a big celebratory Cuban cigar following a Phils victory.

Congratulations to Ryan Howard passing Chuck Klein's 4 30 Homerun and 100 RBI's Seasons.

Ryan now has a franchise High 5 30 Homerun and 100 RBI's Seasons and Counting.

Ryan also passed Pat 'the bat' Burrell's 251 HR's by blasting his 252nd HomeRun for the Phillies moving him into 3rd Place All Time.

Dell Ennis is next at 259, Micheal Jack Schmidt (as Harry liked to call him) at 548 all time.

Bout damn time Werth hits a homer with a runner on base. Game looked horrible to the 9th inning. Glad to see Worley get his 1st MLB win. I think he has a future with the Phils as a 5th starter, possibly beating out KK next season.

Keep winning boys, just keep winning.

Jason is waking up!

About time!

Cholly is Manager of the Year having to trot out players like Baez.

Honestly, Charlie deserves manager to the year (even over the chode from Sandy-Ego) because of the amount of injuries he's dealt with this season while still having the club as the #1 team in the NL.

Please discontinue use off Santa baez. Thank you.

Seriously, there's no way he makes the playoff roster is there?

Preserve Jon. A cardinal sin you just committed. One day at a time. Gotta get to the post season first.

This is a what have you done for me lately.

And since Werth just hit that homerun... why don't we resign him?

Baez has been used exclusively in low leverage situations since May. He gets inserted in a hold situation and gives up the ghost. I'd rather use KK in low leverage relief situations in the playoffs than Baez.

Relax Garcia. It's all good. The demons of '64 are dead and gone.

Baez's last 10 appearances are spread out over 60 days. He's let up 8 runs in 9 2/3 innings.
