Roy-2 Part 2

Only 1 of The Roys has come through for the Phillies since the 2 joined forces, and that Roy hasn't been Oswalt. We all know Halladay is a beast and is a legitimate candidate for the Cy Young, but the other Roy has some serious catching up to do. His first outing with the Phightins we can chalk up to nerves, over stimulation from media hounding him, whirlwind of emotion, etc., but tonight there are no more excuses. With a win tonight Oswalt can get back on track and assure a sweep of the Marlins. Roy-2 Part 2 Phils win.

Thoughts:
*Count how many times Sarge says "for me" during a telecast when giving his opinion. It drives me nuts, and now that I've brought it to your attention hopefully it drives you nuts too.

*I don't mean to piss in your Frosted Flakes (after all "They're Great!"), but people need to chill out in their expectations of Domonic Brown. He's a rare talent for sure, but he hasn't been all that impressive yet. I know this may surprise you, but his OPS is only .568. That's not good, that's not mediocre, that's bad. Now, it's a small sample size and he is just a rookie, but when Victorino returns, Brown should return to Triple-A for regular at bats because he's going to be needed next year with Jayson Werth shipping off. Please don't take this as a knock on Dom, it's not. I'm simply trying to put things into perspective and that perspective should be- don't expect too much from the youngster.

Matt Rizzotti has been promoted to Lehigh Valley. If he continues to hit like he has all season at Clearwater and Reading, it'll be interesting to see if the Phils can work him into the plans for the future.

Rizzotti 2010 stats- .361/.444/.591 (1.035 OPS), 66 r, 135 h, 33 2b, 17 hr, 71 rbi, and 52:78 BB:K in 107 games.

Tempered realism from a blog? I demand outrageous statements of bombast!

Also, in the vein of the recent KK headline next time DBrown has a nice game, I going to go ahead and suggest the headline, "What can Brown do for you?"

Cody Ransom designated for assignment to make room for Mike Sweeney. Thank goodness!

For Me, (LOL) I am glad Ransom was designated

Rizzotti is tearing it up

greg dobbs now 3-35 as a pinch hitter? something like that?

Greg Dobbs is horrible. I know I say players "suck" when I'm mad, and it's not always true. For example, Cole Hamels doesn't suck just because of a few bad outings. But in this case, Greg Dobbs really does suck.

Piss in my frosted flakes or whatever; IMHO you should not come up with opinions based on OBPS with 24 plate appearances by a rookie.

See, I knew somebody would take me the wrong way. All I'm saying about Dom Brown is I doubt he does anything great this season in the bigs. It's a valuable learning experience playing in the majors right now while Vic is out, but when he returns, so should Brown to AAA. When the AAA season is finished, then call Brown back up to finish the year with the Phils. He'll go on to do great thing, but I just don't think this season.

You just want Dom not to hit 3 homeruns and steal 3 bases the week
that the Lidge Ledge Leapers have their rematch with the Dick Allen Thumpers.

F'n bullpen. Romero ruining everything good Oswalt did tonight. Too bad the Phils have stranded a bigillion runners.

JC Romero is useless. Why is he STILL our only lefty out of the pen?????

Jayson Werth SUX!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Roy#2 and 4 walks? Looks like the bullpen screwed it up, but Roy#2 set it up.

JAYSON WERTH YOU WERTHLESS PIECE OF SHIT!!!!!!!!!!
WHO THE HELL DO YOU GET PICKED OFF SECOND IN THAT SITUATION.
HE IS WAY OVERRATED ....GOOD RIDENCE.

GM-Carson said...

What the fuck was that? Runners of 1st and 3rd no out and then all shit broke loose. Ibanez runs into an out at the plate going on contact. Then Werth gets picked off at 2nd. Then Brown gets caught stealing. That's horrible. 2 men got out while Ruiz was at the plate, and he'll still be at the plate when the 10th starts...if it starts.

THERES A ZERO PERCENT CHANCE LIDGE SAVES THIS GAME.

I stand corrected........the phils deserved to lose tonight...but I'll take it

Ugly game from both clubs, but a sweet sweep when it all boils down. Good job keeping pace with the Braves.
