Jimmy Rollins is heading to the disabled list...shit! Amaro believes Jimmy will be back in 2-4 weeks, as it's only a mild to moderate strain. No matter who they plug into shortstop and the lineup, they will not adequately cover his defense and offensive production. Juan Castro is the likely starter, with Triple-A trash Wilson Valdez being called up to take Jimmy's active spot on the roster. A month without Jimmy is bad, really friggin' bad!
No Jimmy + Castro/Valdez = Less Wins

kind of really sucks.... but remember The Beard filled in (badly) for a month last season and we STILL made it to the World Series. Maybe moving Vic to #1 will spark him leaving us with just as good of a lineup.
Without Jimmy, our lineup reconfiguration kinda resembles last year's:
Vic, Polly, Uts, Howard, Werth, Ibanez, Out, Out, Out.
Victorino in the lead-off spot does allows for more base running opportunities, which may even out the run production there. The back end will definitely suffer immensely though.
Ruiz has been solid so far (.294 avg over 5 games, 4 R and 1 RBI). Don't discount him. Also, Roy has 2 hits, Cole 1, and Moyer 1, with 2 RBI and 1 R between them over only 7 games. They're holding their own.
i was on espn and clicked on wilson valdez's name. it says hes on the mets and hes wearing an indians hat...
dont we have cody ross? give that guy a shot
woops, cody ransom*
Ok fine, let's get all the injuries out of the way early in the season and start October with super-human strength.
Interesting matchup tonight in Reading Aumont -vs- Drabek
Holy shit Kendrick sucks! Seriously, he gives the Phils no shot to win games right out of the gate. Blanton can not come back soon enough. I was wrong in suggesting KK replace Moyer.
3-0 ain't no big deal. the phils will come back and win.
5-4 ain't no big deal.
Kendrick couldn't even make it through the 2nd. Suck.
I know Albert Pujols is awesome and all, but really, Chase Utley is the shit!
7 (is good) - 7 (is bad).
Figgy swings a decent bat. I have more faith in him getting a hit than some of our bench players.
see. nothing to worry about.
Imagine when this offense gets warmed up
Or imagine when they face a real pitching staff.
Well that's sorta what I meant.. Just because they are pounding the Nats and Astros doesn't mean they are warmed up.
see, i told you so, nothing to worry about. they could send phillies-era gavin floyd out there and beat the gnats.
carson, you didn't just allude that chase utley might be in same class as the machine did you? if so, you've completely lost it.
No, Pujols is in a class all of his own. I just love Utley and the way he plays the game.
Don't worry, I haven't lost it yet.
This is a good sign. Werth pinch hitting.
Only two more starts of until we can see what a pitcher looks like again.
I was thinking...I wonder if these highly touted prospects will be doing any major league pitching this year to help this horrendous staff at all the way a certain guy whose name rhymes with Griff Key might have done. Just saying that I'm glad we only have one good pitcher vs. two since we have prospects now.
But look at their offense right now. Sure, their opponents are lackluster, but it they keep this up, they won't miss Rollins.
Not good news for the Phils but Vic blitzed it leading off. 7 - 1 is a top start even if it is only the Nats and Houston. You can only beat who ya play so wins are wins. Good test in Atlanta coming up. Go Phils
The Howard is growing, we're up to 7 offenders in the early going of the 2010 season.
