Breaking News- Howard with a Howard

The Nationals/Phillies game may only be in the top of the 5th inning but Ryan Howard has already made history. Tonight Howard earned his first Howard, striking out, committing an error, and hitting a long blast to end Jason Marquis night. The Howard became an officially recognized stat by Major League Baseball in 2009 and WSBGMs was put in charge of charting it. Go figure, the freakin' stat's namesake didn't even commit one last year. Second game of the 2010 season though and it's an entirely different story. Congratulations to Ryan Howard for his first ever genuine making of The Howard.

Now on to less important business like winning the ball game.

We're not used to a start like this. 2-0...whatever will we do with ourselves?

As soon as he made the error, I said "he only needs the homer for the Howard." I was ridiculously excited when he hit it - for the majesty of the homer, sure; but more for the fact that he completed it.

I went over to BeerLeaguer and people over there were talking about it. It's fun how The Howard has become a stat people get excited about.

Posts 6 hours apart? When do you sleep?

I don't sleep, I have a 6 month old that keeps me up all the time.

Somehow, I knew that was coming. Keep up the good work.
