Howard Commits a Howard

Ryan Howard did it ladies and gentlemen, he committed The Howard. Yesterday in Clearwater against the Tigers Howard went deep, k'd, and botched a play in the field.

For those of you that need a refresher...
The Howard by definition- any time a player commits an error, strikes out, and hits a homerun within the same game.

Last season we tracked The Howard for all of Major League Baseball and it turned out that Sam Perlozzo's hard work with Howard's fielding paid off and the big bopper never committed a Howard during the season. However, if yesterday's game is any indication of the upcoming season we may be in store for a run at the top spot of the standings. Congrats Ryan, and watch out Mark Reynolds and Adam Dunn!

How about that Dom Brown?? Wow, this year is gonna be great, but looking to 2011 with Brown doesn't seem so bad either!

Brown will be Werth's replacement. Funny thing, after his 2 homer game on Monday he was reassigned to the minors.

other option but a bit less likely is Brown to replace Ibanez next year. That would be nice but the team does need some players that are a bit cheaper. So Werth may be in his last year this year with the Phils but its not a given until he is released.

Of course he was sent to the minors - he's not making the team, so keeping him just takes up a spot for someone who might.

Alright, this is awesome. Phillies Nation has created a March Madness bracket for Phillies blogs. We're a 5 seed...not bad.

Check it out.

So guys, do you really think Victorino will bat 7th in this lineup? I really don't want him that low (even though with the Phillies it doesn't make a difference because they go through the order so often)

So I was thinking Ibanez could bat 7th. But I mean, then it's something like LL RR L

Vic should lead off with Rollins 7th, but that'll never happen.

Vic or Rollins, whomever is hot, should leadoff. It shouldn't be so set in stone if one (ahem... 2009 Rollins) is struggling, but we all know Cholly...
