Okay, I have something to say to each of the four people interviewed in this video: 1. A baseball hat along with a tie and suspenders is the definition of obnoxious. 2. "Who's you poppy?" Idiot. It's "Who's your daddy?" Do you think this guy knows that Joe Torre isn't the manager anymore? 3. Minor league? You can still be WFC in the minor league, so I'm okay with whatever league the Phils play in. 4. Get a nose job.
If Phillie fans are obnoxious, then what the hell are Jankee fans? Seriously, they have no clue what the f*ck they're spouting off about. I hope Pedro pitches game 2 in Yankee Stadium as well and secures a 2-0 Phils lead in the World Series. I f*ckin' hate New York!
wow, I thought NY fans were annoying, but they are beyond obnoxious! Philly fans respect how good the Yankees are, but still consider the home-grown Philly dynasty to be superior. Jerks.
The Philadelphia accent is an endearing, hard working man's accent. It's a guy trying to get by, being nice to everyone, but making sure no one gets the better of him. It's the kind of accent that builds a tight-knit community of mutual love and respect for everyone who lives within our city's influence.
That New York accent would make anyone who met you instantly hate you and want to hurt you.
I like Philly in 5 winning it at home. I'm not worried about what the NY'ers all think. I just wish they would stop driving south on the Garden State Parkway and clogging up our streets. Philly just put a hurt on 2 teams that were red hot coming into the playoffs. And they handeled them very well. So yes they can dispatch the Yankees and have a 2nd parade in just 2 years.
Phils can beat the Yankees and CC and Pettitte also. In fact they've done just that this and last season. And Burnett is overrated. I'd take Lee, Hamels, and Pedro/Blanton/Happ anyday.
Gotta love Game 1 and how everyone in Cleveland will collectively groan: CC. vs Lee
What pisses me off about many Yankees fans is that they don't respect the competition. Calling the NL the minor leagues is just stupid. Sure the AL wins the freakin' All-Star game every year, but the World Series are pretty evenly split. Not showing the Phils the respect they deserve is disrespectful of baseball.
When you compare the two leagues, the American League is a lot less like baseball and a lot more like little league. The pitcher doesn't hit is all I need to know to scoff at it.
Really, they pay a batter to sit on the bench for half the game. He could be really slow and unathletic, but if he can swing the bat, he can get paid more than people who go out there and play every day, and BOTH innings. It's disgraceful itself.
i'm so sick of the talk about the differences of the two leagues and the superiority of the american league. granted, the AL has dominated interleague play over the last few years, but overall the AL has won 52% percent of interleague games because for the first 7 years the NL won more games. given the natural advantage the AL has by having a DH on the roster, i don't think 52% is that big of a discrepency.
consider WS champtions this decade - 5 for the AL and 4 for the NL. and despite the yankee greatness they were able to lose two WS to minor league teams.
and i refuse to accept all star game results as proof to AL domination. it's an exhibition game. the starters only pitch two innings and when the game is being decided, the best players are already on the bench.
yeah, all star game is not real in any way. just coincidence that the AL keeps winning.
DH rule is terrible. Its only been around since 1971, so its not the "real" way to play baseball. I do, however, love seeing AL pitchers attempt to swing the bat and then hurt themselves (see: Bartolo Colon et al.)
"George Steinbrenner: 'We're looking forward to our 27th ring'"
Okay, that's it. The Phillies can't lose. They just can't. This pompous ass needs it handed to him. If there's one thing the Phillies are, it's humble. They take it one out at a time (to quote J-Roll) and never assume anything. And the Phillies in general have been very "it'll be a good matchup" when talking about the Yankees OR the Angels.
And here the Yankees, after struggling to win both series, have announced themselves as World Series Champs.
It's disgusting. A team like that shouldn't be allowed to win a single game. Crush 'em.
Here's the thing that pisses me off. Everyone says the Yankees have the best offense in baseball cause they have scored the most runs.
I guarantee you if you put the Phils with a DH everyday in that bath tub the yankees call a stadium they would have scored 1000 runs this year. No question.
Also i hate hearing about the yankess dominating bullpen. Unless your talking about mariano.....then no......is anyone afraid of joba? Marte? Phil Coke? anyone?? hughes? Yeah me neither.

Agreed Doc...
All I heard in this video was "Yonk Yonk Yonk Yonk" I can't stand that accent.

Yeah and another thing... Stop crowding OUR shores! Stay on your own side of Jersey. South Jersey is Philly's turf!

This is exactly why I wanted the Phils to play the Yanks in the Series, so they can beat the shit outta them and shut those stupid idiots up.

Some people (ahem, New Jorkers) call it an inferiority complex. I call it hating a bunch of douchebags.

The Yankees in the playoffs have struggled to score runs.
