Say goodbye to the dancing midget and to the Swayze, because the Phillies and Pedro Martinez's winning streaks are over. Last night Pedro lost his first game in a Phillies uniform, and it was his 100th loss of his career. Aside from the loss in the standings, they may have lost Pedro too, as he left the game after 3 innings with neck pain. Meanwhile, the offense was slain by the merciless hand of Javier Vazquez, making for a boring night of baseball viewing for this Phils fan. Series wraps up this afternoon with a Cliff Lee/Tommy Hanson clash.I know I said the Swayze would end, but this was already made ahead of time, and I couldn't resist...

So... can they bring in the Double-A team and beg to let them on the playoff roster or otherwise they won't be able to field a team.
Pedro says he expects to make his next start, which would be Friday against Milwaukee. Said it's just a stiff neck.
Chooch will likely catch one of the double header games on Tuesday.
Condrey looked good last night.
I like this Escalona kid too. With Eyre likely retiring after this season, he might be the 2nd lefty in the pen in 2010.
Vic should be back in the lineup tonight, could have played yesterday, but Charlie felt Francisco had the hot bat.
Haven't heard much on Park or Happ recently.
Lol Carson, in the offseason I think the Phillies will be breaking out the cash for more leftys for the pen. And more righties too. Hopefully it won't be like that one season where we got, who, those two guys (Rodrieguez?) at the trade deadline who didn't even pitch in the bullpen.
What season was that? Larry Bowa was our coach I believe.
awesome umps....just awesome.
utley called out on a ball that's 6 inches outside.
Victorino called out when he was safe stealing 2nd.
And then they throw victorino out in the first inning for arguing with they bullshit calls.
How come i can tell what the right call is with the naked eye watching on tv. and the ump that is standing right next to the F'ing bag misses the call???
Damn, Phils getting screwed this game. If it's not the umps it's the damn weather. Doubtful Lee comes back after the delay, meaning it'll be the 3rd straight game our starters haven't gone beyond 4 (Fri- Happ 3 ip, Sat- Pedro 3 ip, today- Lee 4 ip).
That could a blessing in disguise. Saving our starters for the post season.
We can not have Lidge closing games in the post season!
Lidge just can't get through an inning without giving up a run.
He's just Fucking terrible. what else can you say. He just sucks.
I don't feel this is an exaggeration- nearly 75% of runners that reach 1st base, end up taking 2nd base if unoccupied via "defensive indifference" when Lidge is on the mound. Those runners then score of crappy singles. If you can't keep the runners of the bases, you at least gotta hold them to the base they're on.
