The Celebrated Return of No-Hit Nunez

No-Hit Nunez is back in the house, and I've never been happier to see him. With the Phils win today they knocked their magic # down to 3, which was the number of Sir Abraham Nunez. Nunez sucked, hell I even banished his name from use on the blog years ago, but his return is very much welcomed today.

Going back to Philly on Monday for the final regular season homestand of the season. Like Starsky & Hutch- Do it, Do it!

How about Paul Bako? He's done a much better job than I thought he would, especially with Chooch down. Bako sucked for the first few months with the team, but has started hitting here in September. 3 straight multi-hit games for him, including today.

From The Zo Zone:
"Lidge will get back to where he was. I'm a firm believer in that," Manuel said. "I don't want to shoot Lidge. I think he'll be back to where he was at really. Seriously. But I think right now just from a mental aspect and everything - physical and mental - he needs a little break."

and

It was rookie hazing day Sunday. John Mayberry Jr. and Sergio Escalona wore lady pilot costumes, while J.A. Happ wore a Superwoman contume. No, I don't have any pictures. I think they would have wrestled me to the ground and stomped on my cell phone had I taken one.

Lidge will get back there, but I dont expect that until spring training. Good to see werth get a hit after going 0-21. Time for the Phils to come home and get on track and start winning again on a regular basis.
We know the playoff rotation will be Lee, Hamels, Blanton, and Happ/Pedro (other in pen), but the bullpen is a disaster right now as they have 1 week to find out who's healthy. The givens are Madson, Moyer, and Lidge. Walker should go also. Battling out for the last 3-4 spots are Condrey, Durbin, Myers, Romero, and Eyre. Hopefully atleast 1 of the leftys will be good to go so Escalona doesn't end up on the roster.

I vote for Pedro in the rotation, because it takes him an inning to get loose and if he's in relief that's a bad thing. Happ may become a setup man in the playoffs.

The pitching matchups in this Houston series heavily favor the Phils. Hamels is going against some no-name kid up from Double-A that has a 10+ ERA in the bigs...need to put up a 10 spot on him tonight.

As much as Paul Bako sucks, he does have a 6 game hitting streak and has 2 hits in each of his last 3 starts. He's raised his average and OPS from .188/.578 to .229/.660.
