Over the last 10 games, since July 29th, the Phillies have gone 3-7. They scored only 29 (2.9 rpg) and allowed only 39 (3.9 rpg). That's pathetic from a team that's supposed to be an offensive machine. Utley, Victorino, Howard, Werth, and Ibanez were all all-stars, yet they're puttering around scoring less runs than the f'n Padres. I try not to get too upset, because regardless of the past week or so they still hold a 5 game lead on the Marlins, but dammit this lack of hitting irks the poop outta me.
*The Short Season Williamsport Crosscutters have some serious pitching with a team ERA of 3.11. What the hell is up with this pink jersey though?
*Joe Savery improved to 2-0 as an Iron Pig and 14-4 on the season.
*Michael Taylor is batting .241/.727 since his promotion to Triple-A. He's typically struggled for the first month at every stop along the way before busting out and completely dominating.
*Kyle Drabek is in a mini-slump, seeing his ERA rise to 3.66 in Reading. The kid still is only 21 years old.
*Domonic Brown is batting .280/.899 since being bumped to Double-A.
*Steve Susdorf was batting .359 at 2 Single-A stops before making his debut at Reading last night going 1-4. Phils outfield of the future is looking promising with Taylor, Brown, and Susdorf.
Following Moyer's distinct alternating pattern of good start/bad start that he began back on June 11th (last 10 starts), it puts him in line for a good start today. Couple that with the fact that he's absolutely owned Florida during his career (13-2, 2.83 ERA, 1.04 WHIP) and the Phils might just salvage the final game of this series. Also, win or lose, this may be Grand Pappy's last start for awhile.
