Hamels Pictorium

Not too long ago, Cole Hamels was the toast of the town. He was coming off a remarkable postseason and was inked to a nice 3 year deal in the offseason. Everything seemed to be going as planed...

...but then the 2009 season began and things fell apart...

...and now he's just a tool who wears these types of shirts...

...at least he has his hot wife and dog to cheer him up.

Cole Hamels has made 24 starts this season and has given up 4+ earned runs in 10 of them and failed to go 6 innings in 10 of them. Utterly disappointing.

Hamels wears that Affliction shit, too? It's like Michael Vick wearing a Humane Society shirt...you just know that shit is fake. He makes me sick, and I'm glad you guys finally called him out like this.

Put Hamels and his shitty teacup poodle on a bus to Lakewood.

Hamels has set up a play date for his dog with new Philly resident Michael Vick.

It would be great if he can regain his form/confidence this comng month. Right now Happ, Lee, and Blanton have been spectacular.

I love the dog comment. The truth is Michael Vick only babysits Colbert's dog when Heidi accompanies Colbert on road trips.

Ah, the SI Jinx!! That's what it is. And how true that commercial is no: "Come on Cole, keep it down in the corner!"

His wifes "ok" but not hot.

I read some hwere Verlander and Beckett had a similar let down following a ton of reg season innings + a long post season.

I still like Hamels and think he'll come back strong next season, but this season is almost a lost cause for him.

This quote gets Hamels some respect points. At least he's not making excuses like Moyer or Eaton.

"I've always been a step ahead, and right now I'm neck and neck," Hamels said. "I might have a good game or a good inning, but you really have to put it together, pitch by pitch, inning by inning, to make it a good game. And then you have to back it up with another good game and another good game. Like what our other four starters are doing. For some odd reason, I'm the one that's bringing them down. I don't like that fact at all." (From Zo Zone)

seriously this Cy Redding bullshit has got to stop. No excuses the Phils showed be tearing this guy a new A.
The've seen him pitch a hundred times they know what he has.....and what he has is Shit.

HIT THE FUCKING BALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

GM-Carson said...

It is ridiculous. Dude comes into the game with an ERA between Moyer and Lidges, which means he sucks, and here it is 5 innings later and the Phils have 1 hit and no f'n runs. Thank goodness it appears he's coming out of the game. The Phils should be killing the Mets, they're pathetic right now, but it's the Phils have appear pathetic for the first 1.5 games of this series.

Wow, I had those Cy-Redding thoughts too about the 3rd inning. At least he came out in time for the bats to light up the bullpen.

The Phils execute a Sac fly and Lidge has a 1-2-3 inning.....

TWO GOD DAMN MIRACLES IN THE SAME DAY!!!

So glad Cy Redding was on a low pitch count because he was spot starting. Ended up being a decent game. Lidge's 9th inning made me feel warm and fuzzy inside.
