Bummer

Damn, shutout at the hands of some dude with a 7+ ERA and some team 15 games under .500. Ah, who gives a spit? The Phils took the series from the D'backs and got Cliff Lee yesterday. Seriously, life is good. Time to take our 6 game lead in the NL East and head over to San Fran for a nice 4-game treat with the Giants.

Rodrigo Lopez gets the start tonight, and it may very well be his last for the foreseeable future in a Phils uniform. The rest of the rotation is up in the air, as Lee has to be slotted in somewhere while someone has to be bumped. The Giants are sending Jonathan "No Hitter" Sanchez, Ryan Sadowski, Tim "the Freak" Lincecum, and Barry "I used to date Alyssa Milano" Zito to the mound in the series. Lee and Ben Francisco are supposed to join the team in San Fran today, with Kendrick and Mayberry likely sent down.

Corey is on vacation, so whether a Tale of the Tape is forthcoming for the San Francisco series is unknown.

I'd still like to see Rube swing a deal for a utility infielder that can hit and straight up release Bruntlett.

Hopefully that happens, but despite our abundance of arms right now i wouldn't mind picking up an extra established reliever--perhaps a young'n who hasn't closed yet but probably could.

There's a lot of relievers available, but which ones does Rube want and what is the cost. Sherrill and Qualls are currently closers, so their price is high. I say we keep what we've got, because guys will be coming off the DL within weeks.

Manny and Big Papi were on the list of players that tested positive for PED's back in 2003.

I'm not pro-steriods or nuthin, but it's a bunch of crap these names keep getting leaked out.

I wonder when the team is going to make an announcement concerning the rotation.

Here's what the Rotation should be...
Hamels, Lee, Blanton, Happ, Lopez.

Here's what I predict the Phils will actually do.....
Starters.
Hamels, Lee, Blanton, Happ, Moyer,

Pedro to the pen.
rodrigo to the pen until some of our injured bullpen guys come back then to the minors.

I wonder if they would do a six man rotation to try to keep there starters arms fresher for the playoffs????

Probably not but that would be interesting.

Too much pitching is a good problem to have.

Man the Phils look like poop the last two days.

Looks like the Lopez train is out of gas and the tracks stopped going up a cliff.

Thanks to Rodrigo for those first 4 starts.

Phils offense should have pounded the past 2 pitchers (Petit/Sanchez). Giants pitching gets tougher now.
