Sweep Avoidance
The Phils look to get one this afternoon. Joe Blanton and his stellar 5.17 ERA face off against rookie southpaw Brad Mills. Mills is the Blue Jays' 7th best prospect according to BaseballAmerica.com. However, he's struggled in AAA this season. He has eight losses already for Las Vegas with a 1.51 WHIP. He'll probably shut out the Phils for at least seven innings.

Who can we bring up to replace Moyer? As I know any Phillies trade will be great prospects, lots of them, for a rental crappy pitcher.
It's the Phillies way. How the hell did we win a World Series anyway? A team built from the draft? I refuse to believe it. I mean we were damn lucky Ryan Howard was overlooked for so long otherwise he'd have been gone for Mike Williams.
Since the Phils came home and played the BoSox and Jays the games have been atrocious. They're playing like shit at home, yet the crowd is either comatose or cheering all the small things. This World Series certainly has changed the fanbase's passion, because although I'm not a boo-bird, apparently neither are the other 43 thousand fans in attendance. J-Roll deserves to be booed!
Trade targets Jake Peavy and Erik Bedard are DL'd.
Why was Moyer signed to a 2 year deal again? The Phils bid against themselves.
From Phillies.com-
Manuel made it clear that acquiring a topflight starter takes priority over a bullpen arm, a need that has manifest itself more recently. As Philadelphia's starters have struggled -- throwing the second fewest innings (348 2/3, or 5.6 per outing) and allowing the most earned runs (206, or 3.3 per outing) in the National League entering Wednesday -- the onus has shifted to its relievers.
Damn our pitching staff has been complete shit this season.
"This World Series certainly has changed the fanbase's passion" - that is an absolutely ridiculous thing to say.
we're gonna have to add at least one arm, actually, it would be at least one person with two arms (most likely)
Mayday Mayday!! Ibanez to the DL!!! Yikes!
Bring up Mayberry Jr. And at the rate Jason Werth is contributing, don't bring up Mayberry for quick trade bait.

Why I say that-
The Phils have sucked at home, and in years past the Phans would let the team know by booing or otherwise voicing displeasure. Now that a championship is in hand, the fans seem to be more complacent. I could be off in this general analysis, but performances like J-Rolls, Lidge, and Moyer to date would usually catch the ire of fans, but seem to be swept away this season. Just my personal opinion.
Ibanez to DL, coupled with Lidge already there, is going to really hurt. This team hasn't been firing on all cylinders this entire season. Someone has been hurt or suspended the entire year.
Ibanez to the DL is very bad news...it sounds like he may be out for a month listening to Amaro talk.
Moyer has got to go. I love him to death but he's just not good enough anymore, he should have won his world series and walked off into the sunset
Moyer has so much pride and is a good guy, that I would think he'd retire if this continues much longer.
Runners on 1st and 2nd with no outs against a pitcher making his MLB debut and the Phils hit a lazy popup, get caught stealing (stupid J-Roll), and strikeout without scoring a run.
Now Blanton is busy giving up long flies. How is it that this team is in 1st?
starting to get the feeling this team is about to go into a two month offensive slump like they did last year
Ibanez was a huge reason for the early season offensive success. No offense to Chris Rock JR., oops I mean John Mayberry Jr., but he ain't gonna get it done.
How long is Rollins going to suck this bad? All season...
can someone please teach the Phillies how to hit a curve ball and how not to swing at balls???
Over the last 6 games the Phils have struck out 68 times. That's really bad.
STOP SWINGING AT BALLS IN THE DIRT A-HOLES!!!
Our pitching staff is garbage.
It's getting really hard to watch these games
Are you fucking kidding me with Rod fucking Barajas???!!!!!!!
Every time we tie a game or take a lead lately the very next batter hit one out.
How does this team come off a 7-3 road trip and then turn to complete shit at home???
They all look tired and unfocused right now.
wtf bullpen? how is this team still in first place?
