Hamels Snuggles In Bed

Phillies Starting Pitching: 4 gm, 0-3, 18.2 ip, 36 h, 6 bb, 22 r, 7 hr. That's a 10.88 era with a top of the shit heap 2.34 whip.

Rally-Killer: Ryan Howard did a damn fine job of clearing the bases yesterday...by hitting into 3 double plays.

Phillies Offense:
Aside from the wild 7th inning in Wednesday's win, the Phils have scored only 8 runs in 4 games. Pathetic!

Chad Durbin has been awful so far. He didn't give up 4 runs until May 4th of last season. That was in 21 innings pitched.

Chooch was injured last night and Lou Marson is now in Denver. No official roster move has been made yet.

That bed is getting mighty crowded. Why do I have full confidence that I see Park in that bed soon? So do we get good or bad Myers tonight?

This team sucks right now. They aren't doing anything well, and they actually look Nats bad right now. Could be the buffet and victory lap circuit, but to a man they all look like absolute crap. The games have been nigh unwatchable thus far. The beauty of it is I'd much rather have them start slow and absolutely suck across the board now than start like the Mets and peter out by June.

What does concern me is their weak starting pitching. Not one power pitcher/stopper in the bunch. Too many finesse guys, soft/injury-prone guys, and mental midgets. That more than anything else could quickly spell doom for this season.

Calm down, its soooooo early. the pitching will be fine once hamels gets loose. All our other pitchers are always inconsistent..theyre gonna have bad games in april, and in every other month before fall comes.

Myers will probably have a tough time tonight...i wouldnt be surprised if he gave up multi HRs again. But if keeps that in check and doesnt throw his change much then hell be fine.

Chad Durbin has no chance of being as good as he was last year, even if he was perfect so far this season. He just isnt a great pitcher (Eaton beat him out for the 5th starting spot) and was nothing but a nice surprise last year. There was magic in the pen in 08.

Lots to be concerned about with this Phils team in the 1st week of the season....

Pitching well in fall won't matter if they don't start pitching well now.

Season just got worse- Ruiz to DL.

2008 was great, 2009?

If a "Howard" is a HR, SO, & an E, can a "Feliz" be multiple DoublePlays in a game?

No Howards yet, as the team hasn't been hitting Hrs

Let the Marson era begin.
