Williams Falls Into New Job

It looks like Mitch Williams will follow in the footsteps of John Kruk and use Post Game Live as a stepping stone to a better job as he is set to join the brand new MLB Network. He joins another former Phillies lefty Dan Plesac on the network.

Williams was always fun to watch on Comcast. Like his predecessors Kruk and Marzano, Williams was not only a knowledgeable analyst and competent communicator, he was a passionate Phillies fan who always seemed to be in tune with the emotions of the fan. He was straight shooting and entertaining, and he is a big loss for Comcast.

But this isn't necessarily a loss for Phillies fans. It looks like he'll have a prominent role in the daily "MLB Tonight" show on the network (channel 280 on Comcast Harrisburg...) which should give us hours of Mitchy-Poo every week.

Thanks for the news Carson, we are now going thru a month here where there seems to be very little news about the Phils. Thats because they have filled thier needs already. I did read this morning that Derrick Turnbow is nearing a decision between 4 teams and the Pirates and Phils are mentioned as possibly 2 of them. That would make an alot of arms for the pen. They have 6 returning from last year and also have added Park, Majewski, Blain, & Koplove into the mix. If anyone goes down they atleast have experienced arms to fall back onto.

My guess is Turnbow will sign with another team that he doesn't have to battle 10 people for a spot.

Holy crap. His pants are so tight.

They might replace him with Ricky Bottalico.

I don't care how gay this might sound, but I miss the days of tight uniform pants with the leg of the pants coming only down to the shin area. These new baggy uniform pants that players where down over their cleats is so gangsta and annoying. So some f'n class and wear the pants the right way. Same with jerseys. They're so damn baggy it's hard for a pitcher to pitch inside without fear of putting the batter on base for nipping his f'n jersey. Ridiculous! Public Enemy #1- Manny Ramirez.

I agree, the long pantlegs of the Cubs' Derek Lee compared to the high socks of Hunter Pense of the Astros is ridiculous. Manny looks like a slob. Does Jamie Moyer look like he's on the same team as Ryan Howard? Carson, you may have to become the MLB Asst. Commish in charge of uniform infractions!
