Shake, Rattle, & Roll
Congratulations Dodgers, you finally joined the Phillies in the NLCS by notching a victory against our fireballing 45 year old lefty. During the game you attempted to instill fear in our hearts by sending a message via fastball to Shane Victorino's helmet region. Was that because Pippi Longstocking Manny had one thrown behind him in game 1 or because Russell the Love Muscle Martin got drilled by a blazing 80 mph Grand Pappy Moyer offering in the 1st inning? Seriously, this is the Phillies, Chase Utley and Vic are just looking for reasons to get a running start and plunge headfirst into some dumbass that taunts them. Manny you really want to tangle with a mammoth-sized Ryan Howard, a psycho Brett Myers, or the deadly bite of our little chihuahua Carlos Ruiz? Think not! So, you can try to shake, rattle, and roll this crew all you want, but the bottom line is the Phils are still up 2-1 in the series and Joe Blanton's ready to to make that 3-1 and one step closer to the World Series tonight.
Have faith and fear not Phillies fans, this was merely a bump in the road. You had to figure the Dodgers would at least win one game in the Chavez Ravine. Yes, the game was over in the first inning, but a loss is a loss and a win is a win, so it really doesn't matter how close the score was (or wasn't in this case). I am concerned about Jamie, because he's been uncharacteristically bad in his two playoff starts, but lets remember he was the staff leader that got us into the postseason to begin with so cut the old man some slack. As long as Blanton pitches a quality game tonight and the bats supply some pop, another win for the good guys will happen and panic can return to bliss. Oh, and when we're up 6-1 in the 9th inning, drill Man-Ram in the earhole if he's batting. Go Phils!
